Box in hand, this time not diverted by a sexy guy sitting alone and drinking coffee, Yazoo pushed into Tex's shop. He had a delivery for her and was anxious to see what she thought.

Tex looked up from a datapad as Yazoo entered, her eyes immediately going to the box. Without a second thought, she put the datapad aside. "Yazoo," she greeted.

Grinning, he hastened his steps and placed the box on the counter for her. He flipped the clasps, opened the lid and turned it for her to see the contents.

Nestled in the dark velvet, a gleaming nickel plated gunblade rested, seemingly at peace with all it's surroundings.

There was a low whistle from Tex as all her attention settled on the gunblade. If Tex would have been out of armour, Yazoo would have been able to see the eager expression on her face. Instead maybe the visor reflected the lift a bit more brightly, or maybe not. She reached out and ran a finger along the blade.

"Nice, really nice." She spoke as she looked up at Yazoo. Her fingers itched to pick it up, but restrained herself for a moment longer. "You've got time for a demonstration?" She asked and motioned to the door to the supply room behind her.

"Sure," he said. Closing the box, he tucked it under his arm and followed her.

Tex lifted the side of the counter for Yazoo to move through and then stepped back to the door. After going through the same security measures, it slid open and Tex led Yazoo through the supply room to her practice range.

"What trigger guard did you end up going with?" She asked as she turned to face him.

"A quick catch type," Yazoo said. He tucked his hair behind an ear and set the box on a flat surface. Opening it up again, he lifted the gun out and held it up to her to see. He pushed on the trigger guard from the front of the gun and it held in place, protecting the trigger from inadvertant discharge.

Turning it, his thumb pressed at it from the bottom and it opened up to allow for a larger accomodation.

"Looks good," she praised. Giving in to her eagerness, she moved closer and held out her hand.

"The blade is sharp," Yazoo warned. He turned the gun and presented the grip to her.

"As it should be," Tex said lightly as she closed her hand around the grip, keeping her index on the trigger guard for now. She moved away from Yazoo and aimed the blade at the targets while she tried out the weight of it in her hand.

"Well balanced," she noted approvingly and finally slipped her finger under the guard. It smoothly accomodated for her glove and he fingers stroked over the trigger. "Anything I should know before I give her a go?" Even if Yazoo couldn't see the pleased smile on her face, it was clear in her voice.

"You only have 50 rounds on that energy cell. The kick pulls up but it's minimized." Yazoo grinned and crossed his arms to lean against a back wall. "She hums beautifully."

"Do I recharge it or can you get me the specs so I can find replacement for the cell?" Tex asked.

She fired the gunblade three times, letting herself get used to how it handled. Her aim gradually improved with each shot. "Very beautiful," she purred, falling in love with her new toy.

Yazoo grinned with her compliment. "Loz modeled the cell on the pulse pistol type. He wasn't able to make it any more efficient than to have about 50 pops before you need to switch out. But the fittings should match up."

Easy, she wouldn't have to track down another new supplier then. She lifted the gunblade and run a finger along its edge.

"I think we both got a good deal, Yazoo."

He was elated that she was pleased with his work. "Looks like it."

She only half heard his agreement as she was distracted by the gunblade resting in her hands.

"So, does it come with a name or do I have to figure that one out for myself?" She asked when she finally looked back up at Yazoo again.

"You," Yazoo said, pushing away from the wall to stand in front of her. "She'll tell you."

Tex tilted her head. "Just a matter of listening," she said softly.

"Mm hm," Yazoo nodded to her, grinning. "And you are able to hear."

"With that hum," she carefully picked the word he had used, "it's hard not to."

"So you are pleased." Yazoo said.

Tex laughed and nodded. "Very. That's some fine craftmenship you've got there. I think we'll be doing more business together in the future."

"Good." He tilted his head to watch her closely. "If it gives you any trouble, let me know. I'll fix it, no charge. Watch the handle and if it starts to warm after only a few rounds we may have to adjust the energy enrichment as it gets broken in."

"Right," Tex nodded. "Sounds like I'll need to give this baby a workout," she didn't sounds too sorry about it.

"Yes, that would be a good idea." Yazoo grinned. "A disappointment, I guess."

"Like you wouldn't believe," Tex chuckled.

"It's a custom job, one I'll only do as you commission from me," he tilted his head. "Can't have too many floating around in the public."

"Understandable. "There's much profit to be made in keeping things rare," she paused, "but it's more than that."

"What is it, then?" Yazoo asked.

"Strategical advantage as you're the only one to fully understand it," Tex paused, her grip tightening on the gunblade. Her mind was on her own armour, not that it was as rare where she came from. "Having something that is uniquely yours."

"Yes. Exactly. Better put that I could have said." Yazoo watched her handle the gun. He could understand completely.

"Which makes me wonder why you agreed to make this one," Tex said carefully.

Yazoo gave Tex a lazy smile and headed to the door. "I have to go, my brothers are expecting me."

Tex nodded and, keeping the gunblade with her, led Yazoo back.

"Thank you," she said as they entered the store again.

Yazoo nodded one final time and then left Tex with her new toy.
