In the Park: By the Fountain

Maia sat on the bench, her favorite bench in the park watching the fountain and tossing bread crumbs at the ducks. She was happy, she was at total peace. Paige had gone to talk to Geoff and she said she would wait in the park for her.

Paige walks back from Geoff's and sits next to Maia

"Well that was fun." she says meaning the thing at the diner, "Luke's it is from now on then!"

"yeah the diminished chance of receiving death threats also adds to the atmosphere of somewhere doesn't it? I really don't get why Deb doesn't believe what happened, I guess cos she didn't see it for herself. At least Michael knows it wasn't me!" she sighs

"Yeah I guess so," she says, planning on seeing if Michael can actually explain what happened to his mother

Paige nods "you're right, I just can't stand people hating me like that for something I had so little control over, but at least the people who actually do know me, I mean Geoff and Michael forgive me. It's just I wish none of this had ever happened."

She pauses "I think you might be wrong about James by the way. I saw him today."

Paige nods "yeah I think you might be, I mean no offense to you or your gift, but seriously he's still being a stuborn pig and I'm not gonna apologise first, he's the one in the wrong not me!" she tells her ignoring the fact this meant she was being just as stuborn as Sawyer

"maybe it was someone how just looked a bit like him" she suggests hopefully

She looks at Maia "seriously, I'm not taking him back no matter how sexy he is" she tells her as she shakes her head trying to make herself believe it

Paige sighs "he'd better show up with jewellery!" she says

If Maia and Paige would look up into a tree by the pond, they would notice a parrot wearing a pirate hat.

They would definitely hear the insults he's hurling at the ducks.

"Hang 'em from the yardarm!" he screeched in tiny parroty rage.

The parrot preened, then flew down to strut in front of the girls.

The ducks certainly don't have his beautiful plumage.

"Shiver me timbers!" he squawked.

"who's a pretty boy?" Paige asks offering it some of her muffin

[identity profile] likeguidelines.livejournal.com 2005-11-14 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
The parrot snapped at the pieces of muffin, then hopped close enough for the girls to pet him if they'd like to.

Paige smiles and reaches out a hand to stroke him, placing a little more of the muffin next to him "aren't you just adorable?" she says gently stroking him and only half thinking she could get her hand pecked off at any moment

The parrot, after finishing up the muffin pieces Paige had given and getting pet for a while, hopped over to Maia's hand.

If parrots could smirk, he'd be smirking. The ducks were getting no love tonight.

"Wind in her sails," he cried, "Wind in her sails!"

[OOC: *loses at LJ tonight*]

The parrot flew onto the back of the bench, directly between Paige and Maia. He looked at the two of them, then at the ducks.

He bet the ducks never got asked to go home with anyone.

But he was a parrot who could not be tied down. With a look of parrot-y regret, he took to the skies.

But not before his system evacuated the parts of the muffin and bread he wasn't going to be using.

Parroty poop would be landing on Maia and Paige if they don't move quickly.

Sorry about that.

"thanks" she says to Maia "although apparently it's meant to be good luck!" she adds

Paige does as she's told I wish James weren't such a stuborn jackass she thinks as she tosses in to the water
