Late Monday Night

He sits in his usual spot, Snookums on his lap and an empty bowl which once held livers beside him. He smokes and watches the surface of the water as it ripples...reminding him of the gorgon's snakes.

Snookums sits contentedly on Crowley's lap, concentrating on the sensation he had experienced the other day. He sits like this for a couple of minutes and then he opens his bill and roars for Crowley.

That's right, pet. You're so very smart. [His hand strokes the feathers at the base of the duck's neck.] Do you know, I bet you could howl. Have you ever tried?

Snookums tilts his head and concentrates again. He tilts his head back, opens his bill and... a very loud quack emerges. Snookums cuts it off quickly and settles down grumpily.

A quack is a noble sound for a duck, dearest. But a howl...now that's something. Shall I show you? [He takes a deep breath and lets out a long Hoooooowwwwwwwwlllll at the moon] Now I realize that the lips might be a problem, but give it a whack. I've got a treat for you if you do it.

Snookums watches Crowley as he demonstrates the howl. He then looks at the moon for a while. After a bit more internal contemplation, he tilts his head back farther and lets forth a thin howl. He lets the howl play out, but seems disappointed in it's weakness when he finishes.

[Reaching into his pocket, he pulls out an Atomic Fireball] That was a marvelous attempt, pet. Here, have a sweet.

Snookums accepts the candy and settles down further in Crowley's lap. After a few minutes of digestion, he shoots a fireball out over the pond.
