Caritas--OPEN (11/16)
Dried off after his adventures this afternoon and posting in the right place this time, Jarod prepared for the night ahead. Glasses were sparkling, cherries were plentiful, and dishrags were clean.

"I dunno," he said. He face scrunched up. "I'm kinda having a hard time remembering what we're supposed to do."

Re: The Band
"Hit it boys..."
The band starts playing a familiar tune.
Love!
Love will keep us together!
*scattered applause*
"Thank you. I love you too! Mwah!"
Think of me babe whenever
Some sweet talking girl comes along
singing her song
Don't mess around,
You gotta be strong
Just Stop! [stop],
'cause I really love You
Stop! [stop],
I'll be thinking of you!
Look in my heart and let love...
Keep us together
You, You belong to me now
Ain't gonna set you free now
When those girls start hanging around
Talking me down
Hear with your heart
and you won't hear a sound
Just Stop! [stop],
'cause I really love You
Stop! [stop],
I'll be thinking of you!
Look in my heart and let love...
Keep us together....
Young and beautiful
Someday your looks will be gone
When the others turn you off
Who'll be turning you on
I will! I will! I will! I will!
Be there to share forever
Love will keep us together
Said it before
and I'll say it again
while others pretend
I'll need you now
and I'll need you then
Stop!
'cause I really love Ya
Stop!
I'll be thinking of Ya
Look in my heart and let love
Keep us together....

Re: The Band
True Thomas lay on Huntlie bank;
A ferlie he spied wi' his ee;
And there he saw a lady bright,
Come riding down by the Eildon Tree.
Her skirt was o the grass-green silk,
Her mantle o the velvet fyne,
At ilka tett of her horse's mane
Hang fifty siller bells and nine.
True Thomas he pulld aff his cap,
And louted low down to his knee:
"All hail, thou mighty Queen of Heaven!
For thy peer on earth I never did see."
"O no, O no, Thomas," she said,
"That name does not belang to me;
I am but the queen of fair Elfland,
That am hither come to visit thee.
"Harp and carp, Thomas," she said,
"Harp and carp, along wi' me,
And if ye dare to kiss my lips,
Sure of your bodie I will be!"
"Betide me weal, betide me woe,
That weird sall never daunton me;
Syne he has kissed her rosy lips,
All underneath the Eildon Tree.
"Now, ye maun go wi me," she said,
"True Thomas, ye maun go wi me,
And ye maun serve me seven years,
Thro weal or woe as may chance to be."
She mounted on her milk-white steed,
She's taen True Thomas up behind,
And aye wheneer her bride rung,
The steed flew swifter than the wind.
O they rade on, and farther on -
The steed gaed swifter than the wind -
Until they reached a desart wide,
And living land was left behind.
"Light down, light down, now, True Thomas,
And lean your head upon my knee;
Abide and rest a little space,
And I will shew you ferlies three.
"O see ye not yon narrow road,
So thick beset with thorns and briers?
That is the path of righteousness,
Tho after it but few enquires.
"And see ye not that braid braid road,
That lies across that lily leven?
That is the path of wickedness,
Tho some call it the road to heaven.
"And see not ye that bonny road,
That winds about the fernie brae?
That is the road to fair Elfland,
Where thou and I this night maun gae.
"But, Thomas, ye maun hold your tongue,
Whatever ye may hear or see,
For, if you speak word in Elflyn land,
Ye'll neer get back to your ain countrie."
O they rade on, and farther on,
And they waded thro rivers aboon the knee,
And they saw neither sun nor moon,
But they heard the roaring of the sea.
It was mirk mirk night, and there was nae stern light,
And they waded thro red blude to the knee;
For a' the blude that's shed an earth
Rins thro the springs o that countrie.
Syne they came on to a garden green,
And she pu'd an apple frae a tree:
"Take this for thy wages, True Thomas,
It will give the tongue that can never lie."
"My tongue is mine ain," True Thomas said,
"A gudely gift ye wad gie me!
I neither dought to buy nor sell,
At fair or tryst where I may be.
"I dought neither speak to prince or peer,
Nor ask of grace from fair ladye:"
"Now hold thy peace," the lady said,
"For as I say, so must it be."
He has gotten a coat of the even cloth,
And a pair of shoes of velvet green,
And till seven years were gane and past
True Thomas on earth was never seen.

Re: The Band
I broke into your house last night
And left a note at your bedside
I'm far too shy to speak to you at school
You leave me numb and I'm not sure why
I find it easier to sit and stare
Than push my limbs out towards you right there
My heart is bursting in your perfect eyes
As blue as oceans and as pure as skies
I struggle for the words and then give up
My heads up with the birds on the t-hut
A little piece of mind that I know better
That the plain disgrace of all my letters
After that the floodgates opened up
And I fell in love with everyone I saw
Please take your time, I'm not in any rush
And it's in everything I ever write
It's not as if I need the extra weight
Confused enough by life, so thanks a lot
Lonely written words for company
Just raise the roof this once and follow me
I struggle for the words and then give up
My heads up with the birds on the t-hut
A little piece of mind that I know better
That the plain disgrace of all my letters
[He grins at the room and makes a little bow.]
Re: The Band
Re: The Band
He grinned a little sheepishly at Faith, tossed back long hair that he didn't actually have, and began singing.
"It's the hard-knock life for us!
It's the hard-knock life for us!
'Steada treated,
We get tricked!
'Steada kisses,
We get kicked"
He voice faltered, and he reached up and clutched his head for a second.
He closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, he looked down at what he was wearing.
The next words he uttered were a stream of profanity in four different alien dialects.
Looks like gremlin juice lasts for about three hours in a Jedi...

Re: The Band
If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
She grins at Tara, Rory, Liz and Alanna, and shrugs.
I'd buy you a house
(I would buy you a house)
If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
I'd buy you furniture for your house
(Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman)
And if I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you a K-Car
(A nice Reliant automobile)
If I had a million dollars I'd buy your love...
It's been years before this week since she sang, and it's much more fun than she remembers it. Possibly because no one is correcting her posture, breathing, phrasing, and delivery while she does this.
If I had a million dollars
I'd build a tree fort in our yard
If I had million dollars
You could help, it wouldn't be that hard
If I had million dollars
Maybe we could put like a little tiny fridge in there somewhere
You know, we could just go up there and hang out
Like open the fridge and stuff
There would already be laid out foods for us
Like little pre-wrapped sausages and things
Or maybe it's that she's the one that picked the song.
If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you a fur coat
(But not a real fur coat that's cruel)
And if I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you an exotic pet
(Yep, like a llama or an emu)
And if I had a million dollars
(If I had a a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you John Merrick's remains
(Ooh, all them crazy elephant bones)
And If I had a million dollars I'd buy your loooooooove
If I had a million dollars
We wouldn't have to walk to the store
If I had a million dollars
Now, we'd take a limousine 'cause it costs more
If I had a million dollars
We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner
But we would eat Kraft Dinner
She gestures for anyone who knows the chorus to sing with her on the next part:
If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you a green dress
(But not a real green dress, that's cruel)
And if I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you some art
(A Picasso or a Garfunkel)
If I had a million dollars
(If I had a million dollars)
Well, I'd buy you a monkey
(Haven't you always wanted a monkey)
If I had a million dollars
I’d buy your love
If I had a million dollars, If I had a million dollars
If I had a million dollars, If I had a million dollars
If I had a million dollars
I'd be rich!!
And she gets off the stage chuckling again.

She swallows hard. "I don't know how he deals with it, really. He never talks about it. I know I'm not half as strong as he is."
