House of Illusions, late afternoon

With a show at Caritas on Friday, the Bluth booth was closed. Gob was on the small stage, practicing his act, and waiting for

iwasawesome to show up.

If anyone wanted to check out what was in the booth, they could go to hell as far as Gob was concerned. He had to concentrate.

[OOC: Thread is primarily for

iwasawesome (jump in at your leisure, BTW) so we can coordinate for Friday. However, if anyone would like to heckle, feel free to jump in. And, yes, I realize that it's a mistake to encourage a peanut gallery. Just mark it down as a terrible mistake.]

Lilly half skips over to the stage, and sits on the edge.

"Hey, Boss. What're we doing tonight?"

"Hey there, Lilly. We have to get our act together for Friday. It's going to be a big show!" Gob was clearly more nervous that he was trying to let on.

"I've worked out how the act will go. Check this stuff out," he said, walking to the props. On top of a pile of stuff were some linked rings.

"Cool," Lilly said, going to look at the props. Picking up the rings, she asked "What do you do with these, exactly?"

"When we open the show, I'll be parading around stage, working the crowd into a frenzy for about twenty seconds. Then you'll come out, hand me these rings, and I'll work some magic."

"The rings look solid, but they're rigged so that you can pull them apart. Give it a try."

"Oh, awesome! I knew there was, like, a secret or something," Lilly says excitedly.

She yanks on the rings, trying to get them apart.

"Well, you just have to twist them a certain way, and you're good." Gob helped guide the rings into the right position and let go so Lilly could free them herself. "See?"

"That's so cool," Lilly says, managing to get the rings apart.

"So, you're gonna do this, and then what?"

"Then it's time to play to the audience a bit more. Handkerchiefs," he said, pulling a line of colored handkerchiefs out of his sleeve. "Cards. People love cards," he said pulling several out of his other sleeve.

"Just something to keep them distracted," he said as he walked over to a wheeled table and picked up a white handkerchief and a ball, "until you bring me this." He started demonstrating the trick where a ball levitates underneath the handkerchief (http://www.mallusionist.com/stage/zombie.shtml). "Cool, isn't it?"

Lilly watched the ball float, amazed. "That is SO cool. I'm totally telling people to see this."

She stared at the handkerchief. "So, what's it doing? Like, there's got to be a trick behind it, right?"

"It's some sort of... science... thing. It works," Gob laughed. "That's what's important."

"And then it's the Grand Finale: The Teleporting Boxes!" Gob pointed at two tall, upright boxes at the back of the stage. "This is your big trick. You step in one box, I say some words, and as far as the audience knows, you're transported to the other box."

"Mhm," Lilly says, eyebrow raised. "And then? Do I really switch boxes? Or is it all an illusion?"

"Curtains and hidden doors, sweetheart. You get in the box, close the door, I spin it around to show that there's no way out, and then when I knock on the box, you sneak out the hidden door in the back. Stay behind the curtain right behind the boxes, walk over to the other box, get in, you're done."

Gob smiled. "And in the meantime, I'll be drawing the audience's attention with some more flashy moves so you have plenty of time to do this. Sound good?"

[OOC: The hidden door on the second box will be locked, so Lilly will be stranded behind the curtain for a minute. So instead of a teleportation finale, it will look like he made her disappear.

It's a terrible mistake without screwing him over... this time.]

Lilly nods. "No problem. It sounds totally easy and simple. And like, there's no way it can get messed up."

She bounced up and down. "This is, like, so exciting."

((OOC: Oh, excellent. I love Gob's terrible mistakes.))

"It sure is. This will actually be my first show in months." Gob's breathing increased somewhat. "But you know what they say: GOB Bluth is as cool as... something cool."

[OOC: If this goes well and there's an invitation for a second show, it will definitely make up in terms of how terrible the mistake is. I'm talking blood-loss terrible that will only be funny because it's Gob.]

Lilly stared at him, nodding slowly. "Yeah, totally. As cool as a really cool thing. Maybe even like, ice or something."

((Hee! There's got to be a second show.))

"Frozen ice, even," Gob said, his normal level of smarm returning.

[OOC: Gob also has to give Lilly a couple coices for her costume, but I'm dead tired. You can assume that the outfit is decent at the very least.

And we have a standing invitation for more shows if we want. :)]

"Frozen....ice. Yeah. Definitely cool." Lilly checks her watch. "Crap, I've got to go meet my, um, friend. I guess I'll see you at the show on Friday?"

(OOC- No problem. And, yay! More shows and terrible mistakes!)

"Sounds good, Lilly. I'll see you on Friday."
