Thursday at the bank
Salmoneus has kept the door closed today, but that's mainly because of the cold than anything else. The radio (he'd finally learned how to spell it properly from reading everything on the box) was on, a little louder than yesterday.
He's currently at his desk, in a chipper mood, humming to the music and working on a list:
Project
Things to do:
More info on American Idol -- bookshop?
Talk to Red
Talk to Lorne
Someone at the school?
"I should go up to the school sometime anyway. Maybe I can do something with the business classes." He hums again, then sings, "... that Earl had to die, bom bom ba-bom, bom, bom.... Good-byyyye, Earl...."
[ooc: song courtesy of my partner's mp3 player. Slow play, but feel free to come on in]

"Tex! Wonderful to see you again. I've been trying to find time to drop in and see you. How's the weapon biz? Good, it looks like." As he stands, he finally notices what she has in her other hand, and his eyebrows rise toward his hairline. "Do I need to be worried, or is that just for show?"

He moves over to his counter and looks at the briefcase. "For me? Tex, you shouldn't have!"

"A deposit," she puts the gunblade down next to the case and opens it reveal quite an amount of money that can't possibly be explained by the sales she's doing in her shop.

Slowly and carefully he begins to take the money out of the case and count it. There's a small amount of the local currency and a large amount of the Future dollars she brought in last time.
"Something tells me this can't all come from the store, Tex. No one around here would pay you in this currency." He looks up curiously, but shrugs and slides a deposit slip across to her. "You want all of this in your account?"
[ooc: sorry about the time lapse.. work was hell -- something straight out of locker 327. slow play the rest of this?]

He was guessing that not all of the money was from a legitimate business in Fandom. That didn't really bother him, as long as she didn't tell him any details. Which, by the look of things, she wasn't going to.
But... creative...
The banker didn't look at her as he placed the local currency back in the case and started counting the Future dollars. "If you want to have some for when you have to return home, you can leave the briefcase in my vault, and I'll just deposit the local currency." He looked up from his counting to eye her armor. His voice lowered as he said, "Or -- you could invest it." The emphasis was on the word invest and the older man hoped she'd pick up on what he was saying.

Then he leaned forward. "Let me contact a few people. Give me 72 hours. I'll have some ideas for you then, and if you don't like them, well," he shrugged, "no harm done. We can still deposit it, or just leave it be." His expression turned thoughtful as he considered. "Best thing to do would be to put it into a legitimate business.... one that pays you back a little extra...? "
After a moment he came back to himself and tapped on the case. "If you'll make sure this is locked, you can walk to the vault with me."

She pulled the case back towards herself. "However," there was a note of warning as she spoke and snapped the briefcase closed, "what isn't recorded can get lost. I'm sure you're smart enough not to let that happen, though."
She locked the briefcase and picked it up, motioning for Salmoneus to lead the way.

Salmoneus opened the vault and carefully placed the case inside it on a shelf. Closing it, he spun the combination dial and then turned to Tex.
"Oh! I've been meaning to come see you because I have a favor to ask." The banker pointed at his smelly security Harpy. "I need to take her out to the woods some weekend and let her hunt. But I don't like leaving the bank alone for that many hours. I was wondering if you'd mind watching over things. It'd be four hours, tops." He shrugged. "I don't anticipate trouble around here, but -- you never know."
