"Nothing big, nothing big at all..." Gob paused for a moment before hanging his head and speaking in a rush, "I have a magic show tomorrow and I haven't performed on stage in months and I'm not at all prepared and I'm kind of drunk." His head lifted, wearing a more familiar smarmy look. "How are you tonight?"
Becky arched a brow. "Drunk? Really? You don't say. It doesn't show," she said in her most dulcet, soothing tones. "And I'm just fab, honey. Finished a project, and starting on a new one. You know how that is."
Becky thought for a moment. "Sure," she finally replied, and pulled the drawing she had just finished from her sketchbook.
It depicted two people silhouetted - a large, tall man embracing a thin woman. The only splashes of color on the page were the blue of her eyes and small dots of red on their lips.
"It's nothing fancy," she added, her cheeks darkening.
"'Don't I mean' what?" Gob was very confused for a moment before he could recall. "Ah! That's right! IllOOOsion. Not magic. That doesn't exist. Of course."
[OOC: And now it's going to be gone as of mid-season. :(]
Gob was now extremely agitated. "I haven't done a show in months! I have no clue what I'm doing! And a green guy with horns hired me! What kind of place is this?"
"Lorne? Lorne hired you?" Becky grinned. "You're in good hands, then. He's a doll. And your show will go spectacularly. You're getting all worked up over nothing."
Becky sighed. "Honey. Stop. Now, if you're going to yell, you're going to have to take it out of here. We run a nice, quiet joint." A shriek of pain came from upstairs, and Becky rolled her eyes. "Well, you know what I mean, in any case."
"Sorry. I'm..." Gob sniffed, "I'm better. I'm okay now. I, uh... I think I've had too much to drink." Gob paused for a moment, thought about the shriek, then pointed upstairs. "Who caused that?" he asked.
"Tammy," Becky said, lazily leaning back in her seat. "One of my old boss's protegés. Whoever made that noise knew full well what they were getting into and how they can make her stop, don't worry."
"Oh, I'm not worried," he said. He then mouthed "Tammy" as if it would help him remember her name. His mood seemed to be finally leveling out. "Thanks for the support, sweetheart. I appreciate it. A lot."
"Sure thing. Now, are you interested in the company of any of our fine ladies tonight, or did you want to go rest up for the big show?" Becky asked, tilting her head and offering an encouraging smile.
Becky checked the books. "Hmm, busy night...oh, looks like Wendy's available. Remember Goldie, the blonde? Wendy's her twin sister. Slightly less blonde, though. Little more..." She waved a hand at her monochromatic appearance.
Becky took it, and surveying the card, smiled and nodded as one might in response to a child who had just done something they thought was massively clever.
