Lisa and Marshall, after meeting up in the dorms, stroll into town on their first date.
Lisa grins, continually wiping her palms on her pants as they make idle chit-chat, hoping that Marshall doesn't notice and think she's abnormally sweaty. Usually, it is the back of her neck that gets a little sweaty, right under her hair, and her hair is thankfully full enough to hide it. But not this time, of course not. Now she's Palmer Hyperhidrosis McGee over here.
This was so much easier when she was dating a vampire that was just pretending to like her.

This was so much easier when he was being used by a cute blonde girl.

She swings her purse back and forth with the arm that isn't between them. That's carefree, right? She's a carefree, independent woman. Sassy, even. She'll go so far as to say she's sassy.
And... she send it flying in to the air by mistake. She turns to him and shakes her head - her klutz mojo doesn't even bother her much at this point, even on a date. Picking it up, she smiles.
"So, what's your story? Where are you from?"

and a little turned-on, "Wow, you were totally robbed. Two questions - One, did it have to be Neil Diamond? I mean, did it rely on the frequency of his voice or something, or the vibrations of the tempo, or do you just like Neil Diamond? Two, have you ever met Professor MacGuyver?"no subject

The attempts at being her own personal drill instructor fail, and she can feel the heat high on her cheeks even though the night air is quite cool, as they visibly turn a brilliant pink. "No, that's okay, really. I was just teasing." She fiddles with the button of her coat. "I think I'd like to stay right here if I can."

"Do you have VACCINATIONS, BEAKMANIA, & FRICTION, the episode with Dr. Edward Jenner? That's my favorite. I mean, I'm more of a Bill Nye girl, but Beakman was cool."

She pulls back and smiles. "They should have aired your letter."

To quickly save face, Lisa flashes him a brilliant smile. She grabs his hand and semi-drags him into continuing their walk, totally forgetting the fact her palm may still be a little damp.
"You know, you should transfer those VHS onto DVD. The quality won't be great, but they won't deteriorate like the tapes. It would take a while, but I could help... if you'd like me to?"

"Hey, cool. I could, um, definitely use some help. And not just tapes. It sounds like we have a lot we could do together. Science buddies... or more."

Oh good grief, did she really just say that? This is where it stops being charming, and starts being just a little sad. She takes a deep breath, and summons up the demeanor she often uses in the clinic.
"Is it a trainwreck if you can still see more flashing lights ahead?" she asks, poking fun at herself.
"Yes, I'd like to spend more time with you. We should go out again, I'd like to go out again, I had a good time tonight. Or stay in. I'd enjoy either."
She smiles, triumphantly digging herself out of the hole. She thinks. With any luck.

Maybe laying the talking cat and the stabby-candle on him on the same night wasn't the best course of action.
"What is it like, living in the basement? I heard there was a squid."

Marshall realizes he hasn't asked her enough about her... "Um, so what are you... what's your plans after high school?"

She grips his hand tightly. "Let's go back to the dorms, okay? Last time this happened I ended up helping to burn down a diner during the middle of a zombie attack."
