A Rennaisance Faire

The entrance to the Festival is a large archway that leads you to a costume room. You must be in costume to enter. Period isn't important, and the basic costumes are Ladies in Waiting, Lords, Maids, and Cavaliers. If you'd prefer something else, dig for it...it's probably there.

A short row of small tents is set up for merchants. If you'd like to sell something, claim one, but if you claim it, it must be manned, not NPC'd.

Keep our town clean! Use the garbage cans.Mind the Belthazor shaped crater.

In the center of the park is a huge tent. In front of it is an arena with rows of swords and armor. There will be a tourney, and it is live steel. You are responsible for planning duels if you choose to do so. For the love of mike, wear protective gear. No more bleeding.

Inside the tent are long tables. Snacks and drink are availible all day. The formal banquet will be served formally at dusk.

At the end of the tent is a dance floor. To the side is an area for the minstrels.

The priest, having sneaked into the festival at about 4am overnight, has made considerable inroads into the available drink. He's now asleep under one of the tables, completely unconscious and snoring loudly.

He's wearing the full formal robes of a 16th-century member of the Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Roman and Universal Inquisition.

He's snoring. Loudly.

Inara had suggested monk costumes, and, well, they were pretty easy -- athough Michael and Ben made sure they had enough clothing layered underneath, and the robes brushed the ground, hiding the athletic shoes they were wearing.

After yesterday's costume fiasco, Wesley thinks that inconspicuousness is a very good thing. He picks out a black Benedictine habit, slips it over his street clothes, and tucks the kitten into the pouch between the cincture and the scapular, where it promptly goes to sleep.

Ivanova signs in correctly this time, deciding against the trailing skirts that she knew would have her sprawled flat on an uncomfortable part of her anatomy at some point. She's gone for the not-very-historically-accurate-but-not-one-really-cares Chick With A Sword look.

Tired of being cooped up in his room or the library, Archie decides to brave a swarm of unfamiliar people and arrives at the festival.

For the sheer irony value of it all, he's dressed in the uniform of a British marine, complete with red coat and shako.

Wonka hauls his bag with him to the stalls again. He's still looking optimistic although he sold nothing yesterday. Today, surely someone will be in need of candy!

Kissing Booth

Dressed in peach silk, Inara takes a merchant tent and hangs ribbons and scrolls from the tentpoles.

One of them reads:

Kisses: $3 each (2 for $5)
Romantic or Life advice: $5 for fifteen minutes.

Then she settles down behind the counter with a Cortex handheld to check the 'verse news and waits for customers.

Anders pulls Cally out onto the dance floor. He feels a little out of place with the music, but does his best anyway, and at the very least manages to not step on Cally's toes.

"This is interesting," he remarks, attempting a silly spin with her. "Fun, though."
