In the park, at the pond... [Within the Faire]

Lorne is feeding the ducks and appears to be bonding with them in song.

Rubber Ducky... You're the one!

The ducks go: "Quack! Quack!"

You make bathtime lots of fun!

"Quack! Quack!"

Rubber Ducky, I'm awfully fond of you!
Woo woo be doo...

Parker, out to get coffee to sneak back to Rory, hears a familiar voice, and turns around, surprised. Right. Of course he's singing to the ducks.

She wanders over, and pushes her sunglasses up. "Hey, Lorne."

Angela has gone with Parker on the coffee run. "Lorne is here? Hi, Lorne."

"I'd say you wouldn't believe us of we told you, but ... you kind of, um, would. So."

"How much exactly did you see when we sang, anyhow?"

Angela takes this in, then slowly nods. "I had no idea how this worked."

"And, you mean Rory? Shes .... not in great shape. We're getting coffee to bring back to her."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-20 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Will do. She was sorry she didn't listen to you, and wants to apologize." Parker shook her head. "I've got a question for you-- if Angelus showed up and claimed to be Angel, is there a sure way to tell the difference?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-20 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Got it." Parker raises an eyebrow. "So... you're no more fond of the souled version than the unsouled. Mind if I ask why? Because it kind of makes me think we wasted our time... well, except for it maybe saving Rory and Logan's lives."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-21 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Parker is only following about half of this, but what she does get is very slightly reassuring, and rather sad. "I'm sorry, Lorne. This is one of those resurrection, people-who-don't-know-people-here things again, isn't it? Anya Jenkins was talking about that." She takes a piece of bread, and tosses it to the ducks. "Maybe we'll get lucky, and he headed for the hills. Or walked into the sunlight. Just so we don't have to deal with him." She pats him on the shoulder. Then grins. "And I still haven't seen my Tall Dark Someone. Do those aura readings come with an expiration date?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-21 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Ack. Say no more." Then she rolls her eyes. "Yeah, no problem. I'll console myself with Mr. Meanwhile until then." She pats him on the shoulder. "I'll let you know if we need help on the other thing, but I doubt it. Thanks, Lorne. I'll bring Rory by when she's feeling better."

Angela grins at Parker. "There's a tall dark someone?" she says out the side of her mouth.

Then she turns her attention back to Lorne. "So ... we need to wait and see, basically. Right?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2005-11-21 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Parker snorts. "Evidently. And he's not Michael. So far he's playing least in sight, if he even exists. Which I have cause to doubt."

[[ooc: As much as I'm totally quacking up with laughter here... the Festival kinda has the park taken over at this point in time, I'm pretty sure. :-/ ]]

Jaye, not daring to actually mingle at the festival, sticks closer to areas like the pond, which are hopefully safer. If more musical.

Rodney watches the green guy sing in disbelief.

"The Rubber Ducky Song?"

[identity profile] yaymckay.livejournal.com 2005-11-20 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well of course, I had a rubber ducky! I just haven't sang that song since I was...oh, at least eleven."

Rodney never expected to hear any song so...familiarly childish coming from something that looks like it belongs in the Pegasus galaxy.

And the ducks look pretty aggro, too.

[identity profile] yaymckay.livejournal.com 2005-11-20 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Rodney glances around. He figures he looks seventeen, so he might as well have a go at acting...well, seven.

Rubber Ducky, you're my very best friend, it's true!

His voice is okay - not stage great, but he can hold the tune.

And he gets the doodily-doo bits going, as well.

[identity profile] yaymckay.livejournal.com 2005-11-21 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Rodney shakes his head as he reaches down to touch the duck's head. This was definitely not what he envisioned when he got up this morning.

"Not exactly what I'd class as 'good things happening'," he says, "But I'll take it."

He glances at Lorne. "You're the owner of the new club in town - Caritas, right? Rodney McKay."

[identity profile] yaymckay.livejournal.com 2005-11-21 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'll stick with Lorne," Rodney says. "And it's Rodney. Or McKay. Or, often, 'idiot' from most of the women I know."

The duck is still snuggling up to him, and he runs his fingers along its feathers. "So...I'm guessing the Death-wok Clan aren't local. It's the name, sounds like a reality cooking show: Iron Chef Deathmatch!"
