The Perk--Tuesday afternoon
Han walks in after Bio with Lana. They've been talking about class and the weekend and everything.
He glares at the overly complicated menu again. "Lana, honey, get what you want, and I'll make it two."

"Everyone keeps telling me it's not my fault. It is. I took him up on the fight. I pulled the sneak attack that kept us fighting. We were having fun, and you girls were having such a good time I didn't want to stop."

She picked up her coffee then put it down again. "I dream about it at night, but in my dreams I can't get the bleeding to stop and he just looks up at me and his eyes are begging for me to help him and there's just blood *everywhere*."

Lana sighs. "So, what do we do? How do we get over this? I'd thought once I saw Shep at the hospital and knew he was okay that the dreams would stop. Now I'm hoping that after I stop by and see him and he's in his room and back here that I'll feel better. Which reminds me... we should grab him some dinner and bring it over to him when we leave here."

He covers her hand with his. "I don't know what to do, Lana. Dreams fade in time, mostly. But that doesn't help when we're having them. I'll go see him before I leave."

She looks at the money. "Are you sure you want to pay for his dinner? I don't mind."

He closes her hand over the money, but doesn't let go of it. "Money is not a problem. And yeah, I do want to buy."

She smiles up at him, but her uncertainty shows in her face a little. "Thank you," she says finally, feeling a bit charmed. "It's really nice of you to do that. And, well... sure, call if you want."

He brushes the barest ghost of a kiss over her hair as he rises and goes.

She lets a deep breath out and goes up to order some dinner for Shep, feeling Han's $20 still warm in her hand.
