Spike's Pub is Open 11/27

The brothers were back. Not necessarily ready to work but they went anyway. It was more important to do for Spike than it was to be responsible at that point.

At least the jukebox wasn't possessed anymore and was actually playing decent music.

Getting the bar ready, the doors were unlocked and the sign flickered to OPEN.

Tex was still out of armour and still in a foul mood as she entered the pub. If the fact that Yazoo was back changed anything to that, she didn't let it show as she sat down at the bar.

Tex gratefully picked up the glass and took a long drink. "I'm skipping town with Christmas," she declared solemnly.

"It was cheerful," she grimaced. She had been cheerful. She took another gulp from her glass.

"Cheerful and sparkly," Tex nodded and tried to not remember the pink sign.

She winced and finished her glass before replying. "Other way around."

Tex shook her head. "I don't know. Something bit me."

Tex scowled. "I killed it," she said simply.

"Something ugly and green. Never seen anything like it before," Tex picked up her glass and sipped from it.

"No, didn't look like a duck at all." Tex frowned in thought. "But those ducks are working on my nerves."

"Possibly," Tex looked away, as if she could see the school through the walls. "That school is as weird as this town."

"Yes," Tex agreed. She took another drink, then set the glass down. Her fingers moved to the back of her neck, skimming the bandage. "One we're stuck with for a while."

"Yes," Tex grinned. She'd used her on a mission before things had gone to hell. "Very smooth action, even if she hasn't told me her name yet. I've got patience."

Tex looked up at Yazoo and grinned. "I hope you're not talking about duck season."

"No," Tex agreed softly, tilting her head as she watched Yazoo. "Doesn't pay as well."

"It's a matter of finding the right job," Tex acknowledged. "Some of us are lucky like that."

[identity profile] freelancerchick.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Usually," Tex laughed, but it was a short and depreciative sound. The bruises on her body and the ache in her chest where she cracked a rib reminding her just how close she had been.

"I try," Tex took another sip from her glass. "Depends on how you look at it."
