Rare Books Shop, Monday

After a visit with James at the clinic and a quick trip by the florist, Aziraphale places his gift for Crowley on the counter and readies the shop to be opened. He's feeling a great deal better today, and is even humming a little under his breath. The tea and muffins are set out, the shop sign is turned to 'Open', and Aziraphale is looking forward to seeing who'll be stopping by today.

((ETA: Due to some strange timeline plottiness, Aziraphale is no longer available to talk to anyone in any of the threads currently set up. He is, however back from his errand in the main post, so if you need to talk to him, post a new comment there rather than in the threads. *rolls eyes at chronofluidity*))

Ben enters, looking a little worse for wear. He needed calm, and books were a soothing element for him. His own library hadn't been enough for him today, so he decided to wander through the rare books shop.

"I...I don't know." Ben scratches his head. "To be honest, I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for." He gives a wry smile. "I think I have every book on meditation known to man, so that's out. Maybe poetry? Chanting? Buddhism? Something...soothing." Ben makes a doubtful face. "Something reassuring?"

((ooc: I don't think so. I was trying to remember myself. :P Ben would vaguely know who Phale is through Michael, though.))

Kiki comes in during the afternoon to work (*cough*harrassCrowley*cough*). Even though Mr. Aziraphale seems hale as ever, Kiki is still a bit in mother hen mode, and she's determined to make sure there's more than enough help around the shop.

Re: READING LOUNGE

Carefully holding the book Aziraphale has offered to let him look over (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomtownies/400815.html?thread=16219567#t16219567), Ben sits in the lounge and carefully pages through it. He is enjoying the touch and smell of the book as much as the words it contains; there is no smell quite like old books, and for a bibliophile like Ben, there are few better scents in the entire world. He begins to lose himself in the book, which is exactly what he needs.

Jonathan comes to the bookstore to drop off his presents (http://www.teuscherboston.com/catalog/images/ch36.jpg) for Mr. Crowley (http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2005/Feb-16-Wed-2005/photos/lifestyle.jpg) and Mr. Phale (http://us.st11.yimg.com/store1.yimg.com/I/harneyteas_1870_5856324) he has them in his bag and hopes they'll both like them.

"Hello?" he calls.

"Hello Mr. Phale," Jonathan says with a smile, "I hope you had an enjoyable holiday? Did you and Mr. Crowley do anything special?"

He's clearly pleased to be talking to Mr. Phale, and seems genuinely curious about their holiday weekend.

[He bursts into the Shop, dashing straight to where he can smell the angel. He looks decidedly concerned.]

Aziraphale..there's a problem.

We have a new sheriff in town, angel. See...[he pulls the pen from his pocket and hands it to the angel. The barest trace of blood is on the nib.]

Duce heads to the bookshop after work for some tea and company before she heads home.

(ooc: Player is still slow like whoa due to eyes)

Kiki's working, again shelving books (Amazing how disorganized this place always seems to be! She's forever shelving.) and she smiles and waves at Duce as the bell on the door jangles.

"Hi Duce!" she waves. "How was Vegas?"

After returning from her meeting with the Council on Coruscant, Aayla makes her way to the shop. She is wearing more traditional Jedi robes over her normal attire, to keep out the chill that has been growing in town, especially at night.
Entering the shop, she looks around for Aziraphale or someone else, not knowing if he's still not available.

There was nothing to do. Spike had opened the pub and while he and his brothers were in town to keep an eye in case Spike needed help, there was really nothing to keep them occupied.

Loz and Kadaj headed off to do something and Yazoo would catch up with them later at the park. Now he stood outside the book store and looked in the window. He really wanted that book he had been reading before they left and now he had money to buy it. It was his to spend and Yazoo wanted to get it.

With his bag of jellybeans bought while they were on the mainland, Yazoo entered the shop and went to the bowl to fill it.

[identity profile] flash-serpent.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
[He stands behind the counter, bored out of his skull, waiting for the read shopkeep to come back.]

Hello, boy. My angel isn't here at the moment...but you're to come in and drink cocoa. Yes?

[identity profile] ac-brothers.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yazoo took a step back, his hand itching to reach around behind him but he was able to keep still otherwise. He'd seen the dark man a few times but this was the first time he'd actually spoken to him directly. Suspicious eyes glanced around the shop and back to Crowley.

At the offer of cocoa, however, Yazoo relaxed slightly and he nodded. "I'm just looking for a book."

Suddenly realizing how much time had passed, Ben picked up the books he'd borrowed -- being especially careful of the special Wilde text -- and looked around for Aziraphale. It occurred to him that the man had known his name even though Ben hadn't introduced himself; Michael had said he was an angel, perhaps that's how he knew.

[identity profile] mikeys-ben.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, thank you." Ben nods, unsure of how to express his deep gratitude. "It was very kind of you to let me borrow the book...I'm sure it's worth a small fortune. It provided a much-needed escape for me today."
