Ben opened the shop this morning, efficiently setting up the new holiday displays that had finally arrived. Michael had woken with a splitting headache -- stress-induced more likely than actual migraine -- and Ben had offered to open. Michael had been in no shape to protest.

Ben's mind swirled with thoughts of his conversation with Yazoo the evening before. It bothered Ben that he too frequently let this other man get his goat. But he had to come to Michael's defense, didn't he? He shook his head and tried to find a distraction from his thoughts.
