"When is your break?" she asks, dropping the books in front of Jarod. "And how are you?" she can't help but ask, glad to see him. "Angelo says 'hi'. Or his version, anyway."

He'd contact Angelo later. Parker's boyfriend was too perfect on paper. As a human being, Michael didn't make sense. As Parker's boyfriend, he made even less.

She sighed. "I don't know where we're spending Christmas this year, but it won't be Blue Cove. Of course."

"Ah...Christmas in the South of France with the Parkers...sounds like..." He trailed off. It sounded uncomfortable to him, but he didn't think she'd appreciate hearing that. He tried not to lie to her, though.

"...sounds like....?" She narrowed her eyes at him, then said, "time with my Dad. And it might not be the south of France, I'm hoping to talk him into New York." She grins suddenly. "One of my professors invited me on a shopping spree there. Shoes and jewelry and chocolate and I'll send you something good, if I get to go."
