Bella Amalfi (NPC Italian Restaurant)

The small restaurant is hidden down a side street in Fandom, and with Janet on his arm, Daniel leads her there, chatting lightly.

"Nice place," says Janet, studying the outside. "How is it that I've never seen it before?"

Daniel shrugs, as he opens the door for her. Stairs are leading up to the actual restaurant. "I don't know. I only discovered it myself the other day."

"It's an unusual setup." Janet grins and starts up the stairs, her heels clicking on the wooden steps. "How many restaurants are on a second floor?"

"Not many that I know of," Daniel admits. "But I guess in a small town they need to maximise the amount of space they can use."

He smiles at the hostess at the top of the stairs. "Table for two, please," he says.

"Certainly, sir," she smiles perkily, picking up two menus and leading them into the small, uncrowded restaurant.

"Have you eaten here yet?" asks Janet. "Or am I in for an adventure?"

She sits down and spreads the napkin out in her lap.

"No, I thought we could try it out together," Daniel replies, smiling at her as he opens the menu.

"That's sweet," said Janet, smiling back before she starts studying the menu. "It all looks delicious. We should order some wine too. Do you know what you want?"

"I think I'm going to have the linguine all vongole veraci," Daniel replied, looking down at the menu. "How about you?"

"There's a mushroom risotto that looks pretty good," said Janet. "I may not do an appetizer, but I'm definitely getting dessert."

Daniel laughed softly. "I had a feeling you'd say that," he said. "Is white wine alright with you?"

"I always say that," said Janet. The restaurant was quiet, with classical music playing softly in the background. "White is good. Something a little dry, I think. Maybe a Pinot Grigio or a Fume Blanc?"


OOC: Mmm, wine. *glares at antibiotics*

"The Pinot Gringio sounds good to me," Daniel nodded, before giving their order to the waitress, and closing his menu. "So..."

"So?" asked Janet. She looked at him curiously.

"This is nice," Daniel said, smiling at her. "And I'm sorry I never asked you to do this sooner."

"Sooner while we were here?" asked Janet. "Or sooner back in Colorado?" She took a sip of her water and ignored the waitress setting down a basket full of bread.

"Well, sooner back in Colorado in an ideal world," Daniel said, idly taking a piece of bread and pulling it apart. "But just sooner here would have worked."

"I'm long past hoping for an ideal world," said Janet. She poured some olive oil on a small plate and picked up a piece of bread. "I'm just glad you're here with the rest of us."

"Me too," Daniel said. "I know it's perhaps not seemed like it in the past, but I really am glad. Especially to be with you."

Janet smiled brightly at him. "I do know that. I'm just still adjusting."

The waitress brought out the bottle of wine and started uncorking it.

Daniel looked up and watched the waitress pour two glasses of wine, before smiling and saying thank you.

He waited until she had disappeared again, before reaching into his pocket. "I've got something which'll hopefully help with that," he began.

"With adjusting?" Janet sipped at her wine, then dipped the bread in olive oil and took a bite.

"Well, sort of," Daniel said, holding out his hand in a clenched fist.
