Thursday Specials
The Dive is Allllll decked out for the holidays.
There's a big tree in one corner, a classic creche on the shelf high on the wall, a Holy Family done as a single statue in delft blue glaze behind the register, a couple of light-up reindeer appear to be grazing at the pastry case and a 5' animated Santa that boogies to Jingle Bells greets the customers. Lights and garland are everywhere, and a big sprig of mistletoe hangs in the archway between the diner and the shop.
The Chalkboard reads in festive Green and Red
Toasted ravioli with marinara! Beef or cheese or both.
Desserts:
Lemon bars
Holiday Peppermint Pie
Eggnog Pie
Cinnamon cheesecake

He immediately went behind the counter and began rolling silverware.

"Also, what is the significance behind the decorations?"

"You've never seen Christmas decorations? Oh boy. The little statues are a Nativity scene. That's the most important thing. The lady in the blue robe is the Virgin Mary. The man in the brown robe is her husband Joseph. She's just given birth to the Baby, there. his name is Jesus and he's not Joseph's son, but God's. And the angels and shepherds and wise men and stuff are just there for the party."
She points to the tree. "That's a Christmas tree. We just decorate it every year. It's...tradition. I used to have a glass angel, from my mother, and my brother and I would fight over who got to put it on, every year. It got broken the year he died."
She shrugs. "And holly and mistletoe are just traditional too."

"Fascinating..." He wasn't sure how he felt about the story Deb had told him, since he was still working his way through the Old Testament. There weren't even technically any Jews yet, since he was still reading the beginning of Genesis.

"Hey Deb, I wanted to stop by and see what I owe you for all the food people kept bringing me after my accident. And don't you dare say 'nothin'.

She bustles over to check his wrist. "How's this doing? other than putting a cramp in your lovelife?"

"I'm getting better, thanks. I started P.T. today. Which sucks a lot. Though I seem to have picked up a Dominatrix in the process. Lana," he adds quickly, "Has volunteered to help with my thrice daily torture sessions."
