Fandom Town, late Thursday night

Late Thursday night, a small band of revellers creeps giggling through the town. For those who remember the night that the town was (literally) Painted Red, some faces and forms might be familiar.

One figure, lanternlight shining onto honey-blonde hair, tips a bagload of some forty or fifty
ducks into the pond, disturbing some of the sleeping birds and giggling helplessly.

[ooc: Open to anyone!]

((ooc: Hee! Mun's duck collection includes 3 or 4 of these. :D))

Toting a thermos of tea in one deep pocket of her long coat and a thermos of cocoa in the other, another figure (this one with off-black hair) chuckles.

"How did you find so many of those at such short notice, baby?" She whispers.

"Oh, shit," she murmurs, chuckling heartily as she leans against the blonde, her arm slipping around her waist.

"They breed. Like bunnies." The pink-haired figure offered, flashing a grin over at her companion of the night.

"Well -- then... wouldn't that old saying be 'breed like ducks'? Rather than... bunnies?" The dark-haired young woman asked, brows furrowing as she looked over at her fellow conspirator.

"As soon as it gets warmer," the dark-haired woman promises, her voice a low, husky purr, lips curling into a wicked grin.

The brunette admires the blonde's position for a few moments before dropping to her knees to help.

Reaching for the ducks that have gotten stuck in the mud, she tosses them towards the center of the pond, throwing up splashes of water as they hit and bobbing beneath the surface of the water, only to bob back up again to float cheerfully along the surface.

Besides streaking? The pink-haired one wonders. She shrugs, "Well, we already did paint... fireworks would be awesome, I do know a spell, but it's too late for anyone to see them, isn't it?"

"Sounds great!" the vibrant pixie enthused, beaming. "And we could get pimp hats or something. And I could do my Crowley impression. Well, at least as much as I can without doing a full male morph because I think two Crowleys would screw up the island, huh?"

"Pretty good," the pink-haired young woman nodded toward the brunette, "I could do her right now. Wanna see?"

[identity profile] shane-mcc.livejournal.com 2005-12-02 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Me?" The brunette in question asked, brows arching as she looks over at the blonde. For her part, she keeps her eyes open, looking over at the pink-haired young woman, studying her curiously.

"Hmm." The pink-haired one pauses, studying the attractive brunette for a moment. She concentrated for a moment, before feeling the feeling of her body shifting, her height replaced by another's, her features replaced with the brunette's. The last thing she's aware of is her hair - she knows the darker color is rushing through it, she can feel the longer strands tickling the back of her neck. She takes a step forward, trying to get unused the slight, unbalanced feeling that always seemed to come right after a morph, stumbling slightly. Still, she grinned. "Do either of you have a mirror?"

The changeling grinned, "That good?" She leaned to look at herself in the mirrored surface of the lake. "Hmm. I'm a little off." She glanced over at the brunette, "Do you mind turning so I can see your right ear?"

Eyes wide and mouth hanging slack, the brunette (the original one, that is) doesn't even realize that she's being spoken to, for a moment.

When she does, she blinks and looks at... her other self. "Uhhh, yeah, yeah... sure..." she murmurs, turning her head to one side and holding perfectly still for a few moments so that the other-her can see her ear, clearly visible thanks to her short-cropped hair.

"I see what the problem is!" The now-brunette said, reaching up to remove several silver studs from her ears. She looks back at the water, watching as her features smooth, effortlessly mimicking the other.

"Holy shit," the original brunette said, shaking her head as she let out a delighted laugh. "How do you do that?"

[identity profile] luridpinkspikes.livejournal.com 2005-12-02 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
The second brunette shrugged, "I was sorta born with it. The condition's classified as a 'magical creature' in my world, but people have suggested it's a mutation since I've come here."

[identity profile] shane-mcc.livejournal.com 2005-12-02 09:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah," the first brunette said, stuffing her hands into her pockets again, lips twisting thoughtfully. "I guess people in this dimension kinda want to hang on to the scientific end of things, since they don't really know about the magic end, y'know?"

[identity profile] luridpinkspikes.livejournal.com 2005-12-02 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
"That makes a lot of sense." The changeling murmured, kneeling to push off one of the ducks that had drifted too close. "'Acts of man are better than acts of fate.'" She quoted to herself.

[identity profile] shane-mcc.livejournal.com 2005-12-02 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
"I didn't know anything about magic when I came here," the first brunette offers. "Everything I learned, she taught me." She nods over at the blonde, a warm smile curling her lips. "But she says it's almost like she's not teaching me... just that she's just reminding me of stuff I already knew."

Early the next morning...

Walking towards the park on a very brisk and chilly morning, Aayla notices something... odd. She continues walking towards the pond to see many black and red fake demon ducks floating in the water along with some of the normal live ones. Her brow furrows in confusion for just a moment until she remembers the voicemail she'd received shortly before. Presents for Mr. Crowley? she thinks. She pauses for only a moment in front of the pond before continuing on her way.
I'll never really understand this town...
