Sunday Morning : The Perk (open for anyone's use)

Lana and Shep enter The Perk, his arm still draped casually over her shoulder.

"Your turn to pick a place to sit," Lana says to him.

[Open to anyone who wants to come in and chat with either of them.]

He points to a booth towards one side, "Over there is fine."

Lana takes a seat across from him. "Wow. I hadn't realized how cold it was outside till I got in here. Coffee, please," she says to the server.

Shep orders coffee and a bagel and then turns to Lana, "So, what were thinking about out there in this miserable weather? It's too damn cold to have been contemplating your navel."

She wrinkled her face up. "I don't know that I was thinking about anything in particular. Just how nice it was to be outside. How it feels like things in my life are finally starting to feel like I'm moving in the right direction. How glad I am that I've made some good friends here. Wondering about some... confusing things..."

Shep raises an eyebrow at the 'confusing' part, but doesn't comment, letting Lana decide how much she wants to share.

"Glad your starting to feel like you're accomplishing something. Me... I'm not sure what I'm *doing* here, so I'm just kind of... drifting along."

"Well, I don't know how much I'm *accomplishing* here. But at least I feel like I'm not screwing up quite so much. I mean after Archie and Justin and..." she bites her lip, "but probably you don't want to hear about them."

"Why do you do that? If I'm talking to you, I obviously do want to hear it. You were doing that the other day too. Too bad you aren't in ethics. What happened with Archie and Justin?"

Allie enters the Perk and orders a Holiday Spice Cappucino.

She waves to Lana and Shep and grabs a table to wait for Lisa.

"How's it going? I haven't seen you in a while."

"Definitely." Lana smiles and turns back to Shep.

Lisa comes in and smiles. "Hey Allie." She grabs a coffee and waves at Shep and Lana before sitting down.

Lisa calls over, "We should grab coffee some day. I swear I actually leave the Clinic sometimes."

"I'd like that!" Lana says with a smile. "Sometime this week, maybe?"

"Totally. You have a cell phone, right? I'll give you a call."

"How's everything going? I haven't seen you much lately."

"Not too bad. I'm swimming in end of semester assignments though." She makes an appropriately disgruntled face. "How are you?"

"The same. These end of semester assignments are killing me. I'm so glad I decided to quit the clinic. I don't think I could have handled it."

"Yeah, I mostly hide in the back. Luckily, Wilson spends most of his time in there so I've avoided a lot of the grunt work," Lisa shrugs her shoulders. "How's life?"
