Ice Skating (Late Afternoon)

"I left a message for Daniel to meet us here," Janet said to Sam as they walked up to Gordon Bombay's ice rink. "Did we invite anyone else? I honestly can't remember."


OOC: Why, yes, it is open to all! Come in and enjoy! Request? Except for one tiny plot thing Zero, Parker, and Janet have planned, we're looking for FLUFF. No drama, no angst, just silliness.

Daniel was leaning against the wall next to the door, looking slightly nervous.

Him + ice sounded like a bad idea. But it was Janet and he was completely head over heels.

"Hey," said Janet, grinning at Daniel. "Do you, ah, even have ice skates?"

Daniel's face brightened as soon as he saw her. "Hey," he replied, before looking concerned. "I can hire them, right?"

"Invite? No, I don't think so," Sam grinned as she waved to Daniel. "Ten bucks says he knocks himself out," she whispered to Janet.

Daniel waved back at Sam, almost smiling. He really wasn't sure about this whole ice-skating business.

*Zero comes into the rink, sporting a whole lotta bright pink thanks to her new hat, scarf, and gloves. She doesn't look particularly happy to be here.*

Parker's behind her, carrying her own skates, and looking a bit bemused. "Okay, do you want to rent some skates? Or just watch?" She starts to unlace her shoes.

Anakin, a desert boy at heart, never really got tired of looking at frozen water. With some time on his hands, he headed down to look at the ice skating rink.

Skating around on frozen water. What a strange idea.

He waved when he saw Parker, Zero, Sam, Janet and a man he didn't know already there.

Parker waved back, then turned back to her conversation with Zero and Janet, looking concerned.

Sam waved Anakin over. "Hey!"

Janet waved from where she was talking to Parker and Zero. "I'll be ready to skate in a few minutes," she called over.

Anakin nodded, looking a little nervous, and then walked over to where Sam and the man he didn't know were talking together.

It's an instinct, really. Jaye wonders if she doesn't have a superpower that draws her to wherever people might be embarrassing themselves. That's really the only reason she has to show up to an ice rink.

Parker zooms by, going so fast it's like she's racing.

Jaye wonders if anyone got the license plate.

Janet finished lacing up her skates. "You guys ready?" she asked, venturing out on the ice.

Daniel looked at her skeptically, and stood up, clutching onto the wall. "Uh, no?"

"Come on." Janet skated up to him and held out her gloved hand. "I'll help you balance."

Sam turned around from the counter, where she was waiting in line. "Just a few minutes. I forgot what size skates I wear and have to exchange them."

Anakin was toddling over to the rink, looking down at his skates and thinking this was probably a very bad idea.

"Um, not so ready," he muttered.

She stares at him. "I am not parading around in anything blue and stretchy!" she says. "Maybe the Dean doesn't actually want me in it. Maybe he just wants me to like... do something else?" she finishes pathetically.

Janet stopped and stared at Jaye from the ice.

"You got yanked into the pageant for your--" She shook her head. "What was up with you the other night, anyway?"

Having skated for about an hour straight, Parker was finally calm enough to hear the rest of what Zero and Janet had to tell her.

She sat back in the stands, and closed her eyes, wishing it wasn't true.

Before Janet and Zero came back, Parker decided to go home.

She'd talk to them about this in the library tomorrow.
