Red's is open - Monday

Aaron trudged through the nasty weather to the shop. Opening the door, he moved quickly inside and began flicking the lights on. He stopped after a moment, cocking his head to the side with a frown. Silence from upstairs. The shop felt abnormally empty. Still frowning, he made his way to the counter, and there he found a note. His expression cleared. Red was on vacation with his pups, he and Duce were to open the shop at their discretion.

Aaron looked at the calendar for the week and began calling clients. Most of them had already been reassigned, but a few had 'LM/NCB' next to them. Red had left messages but noone called back.

[ooc: Shop is open at it's normal time. Player may be sleeping shortly, and will be in and out throughout the rest of day and evening. Slow play is our friend.]

HENNA OPEN

Duce comes in, waving at Aaron while he's on the phone. Slowly unbundling herself from many layers of cold weather gear, she moved over to the heat vent and hovered over it, teeth chattering.

Finally warming up, Duce said, "Good for him. He's getting away from Mrs. Grundy over at City Hall for a week, and we're all for that!" Heading behind the counter, she begins setting up. "Courier? If you need something delivered, you should just call Kiki. She's faster and has the small and cute advantage." Tilting her head at him, she asks, "What'd you want to send? Town's small enough you could probably just walk it over."

Duce snorts, "No, we don't like her. She pushes him too hard." She shrugged right back at him, "We'll be here, if you want to go run errands. And for flowers, you could try calling Jack's, although," she frowns, "last time we used them, they were really slow. You're still almost better off using Kiki."

Digging in her pocket, she flipped through a battered notepad until she found Kiki's number. She pushed it across the counter at him and started mixing some henna.

As soon as she left Wonka's, Sonia made her way towards Red's shop. Stepping inside, she looked immediately for Aaron.

Grinning broadly, she crossed the room to the counter. "Hallo! Yes, I got your note- and the flowers. They're beautiful, thank you."

She leaned forward onto her elbows, looking up at him. "You wanted to ask me something?"

"Very much- they were a vunderful surprise."

It only took a moment for her to respond, a bright smile spreading across her face. "Yes, I would. That sounds...very nice. And I have no plans for the veekend, so..." She shrugged. "What are you thinking?"

She tilted her head to the side in thought, eyebrows lifting. "Sledding...yes, that sounds good. Hmm...can't remember the last time I've even been sledding..."

After a moment, Sonia remembered. It involved her cousins, bits of ice, and blood.

This would hopefully be a much more pleasant experience.

Sonia lifted a hand to cover (well, partially) his own, and returned his smile. "No, it's not that- I do want to. I vas just...remembering something." She laughed lightly, hoping to dispel any concern he might have. "This, I'm sure, vill be much nicer."

Smile widening, she leaned into the touch of his hand. "Yes, something like that." Her gaze turned upwards, bright eyes meeting his. "And I'm almost certain you can."

"Oh, absolutely." She raises an eyebrow at him. "And vhat's that look for?"

Her eyes narrow, but she is unable to keep a serious, straight face, and gives him a skeptical grin.

"Vhy do I think you're hiding something?"

She smirked, also trying not to laugh, but eventually gave in with a small giggle laugh (dignified!) giggle, shaking her head.

"Vould you believe that I'm just naturally good at reading people?," she tried.

Sonia just as reluctantly pulled back, straightening up a bit while he wrote. Taking the scrap of paper, she looked over the note before folding it and putting it deep into her coat pocket.

Following his glare to the clock, she nodded. "All right. You'll hear from me soon, then." She gave him a warm smile. "And I'll let you get back to vurk, now."

Halfway to the door, she stopped, turned on her heel, and strode back towards the counter. Leaning across, she placed a quick, light kiss on his cheek, smiled, and turned back towards the door.
