The Emporium -- Monday

Michael turned the sign from "closed" to "open" and took a seat behind the counter, deciding that Tetris was a good way to pass the time between customers.

Aaron came into the store on his lunch break, bearing a paper bag. He was grinning. "Hi, Mikey. Is Ben hiding around anywhere?"

Ben slightly resembles hell warmed over. He rubs his eyes as he comes down the stairs, but smiles when he sees Aaron. "Hi, Aaron. What's up?"

Aaron grinned at Mikey, "Thanks, I appreciate it." Smiling over at Ben, Aaron presents him with an object in a paper bag (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/warfare/753d/). "Did some errands over the weekend and came across something I thought you might get a kick out of. It looks like Michael has most of the decorations up, but if he starts getting that tacky decoration glimmer in his eye again.. this should help you distract him."

Ben's eyes light up, although he keeps his tone mock-serious. "Now normally I don't approve of guns," he says, hoisting the shooter and taking a bead on Michael, "but this could be fun." Ben bursts into laughter as Michael ducks behind a display. "Thank you. That was very thoughtful of you...although Michael might not think so." He grins.

((ooc: *dies* *wants one now*))

Aaron nods gravely, although there could be a hint of a smile somewhere. "That's about the only kind of gun I approve of, either. I have it on good authority," he added with mischief, "that if you freeze the marshmellows first, it really stings."

He dropped a slow wink at Ben "But frozen marshmellows might be detrimental to fragile ornaments." He somehow doesn't sound as though that's a bad thing.

"Had a question for the both of you. I know you and Hunter kinda tried to keep Michael from the stage at Caritas, but how are you with other kinds of singing? Say, carolling?"

[identity profile] mikeys-ben.livejournal.com 2005-12-05 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Ben nods at the advice. "I'll keep that in mind." He lowers his voice a little and says with a chuckle, "as long as the damaged ornaments are on the tree and not on him, I'm good. Although I might be sleeping on the sofa for a while if I actually break anything."

Ben shrugs at the question. "As long as they aren't Jackson Five tunes with titles that match my name, I could be okay with that. Are you getting a group together for caroling?"

[identity profile] cabal-boone.livejournal.com 2005-12-05 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Aaron's answering chuckle is a low rumble. "I'm sure. I'm sure you'll be very careful with it. And not break anything you didn't mean to>."

Raking his hair back out of his face with a humble shrug, he answered, "I'd thought about it, and brainstormed it over a bit with Sonia, and she seemed to think it'd be a good idea.. I thought it'd be a nice way for some of us new folks to meet other people, and a chance for the kids up at school to come do something down here besides shop."

"And besides," he murmurred, "it's fun."

[identity profile] mikeys-ben.livejournal.com 2005-12-05 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"It sounds like fun," Ben replied, "and a good idea. Count us in...just let us know when."

"Will do. I have fliers for it, to just get together and see who wants to do it and if there's enough interest. I'll bring one by tomorrow." Looking at the clock, Aaron grimaced. "Gotta get back. Left the gorgon alone, lord only knows what she'll do." With a wave, he headed out.

Ben had looked .. well, really rather like hell when he walked in, and Aaron was glad he was able to make him smile for a little while.

If not to distracted by the Tetris game, Michael might notice a bird of prey gracefully fly by his window.
Moments later, Tobias enters the shop, wearing the same clothes he had a few nights before. He brushes the snow off of his well broken-in black leather jacket and looks for Michael.

Tobias nods, smiling. "I am, sir. If you'll have me that is." He laughs a little, scratching the back of his head nervously.

Listening intently to what Michael said, Tobias thinks before he replies. "A few days a week would be okay... I'd like to refrain from woking weekends, though, if that's alright 'cause my mun leaves me all alone then."
He hesitates before continuing. "There is one small thing I need to tell you though... I... Uh..." Tobias takes a deep breath and leans in, lowering his voice. "I'm actually a hawk..."

[identity profile] hawktobias.livejournal.com 2005-12-06 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
Tobas breathes a sigh of relief and smiles a little at Michael. "I can control it quite well, actually. The only accomodation I need is somewhere that I can return to my hawk form every two hours. I'm then able to remorph into a human and continue work. The entire thing takes only about a minute."
He pauses for a moment and remembers something. "Oh... I don't really have a place to keep my clothes, either. It's difficult bringing them with me not to mention keeping them clean and dry when I'm in hawk form. Would there be some sort of a storage area for me to keep my business attire?" He puts his hands in his jean pockets and looks down at his semi-soaked and very cold pants.

Tobias laughs at the pun and shakes Michael's hand. "Thank you so much, Michael. When would you like me to begin?"
