In the park...

Spike takes a night away from the pub and walks through the park.

Not exactly looking for anyone... but whatever comes across his path he'll be happy to deal with.

[OOC: Open to anyone]

After talking to Michael, Parker could really use some peace, and quiet, and sanity. Remembering how calming the place was, she heads back over to Sanctity, cutting through the park on her way. It's dark, but she has her holy water handgun, and it's only a short ways away.

Whirling, Parker stepped away, then got her breath back. "Thank you, Mr. Wolf, for pointing that out. But I'm not exactly wearing a red satin hood." Readjusting the strap on her purse (and checking her gun), she said, "Getting your jollies scaring people in the park now? Business must be *really* slow."

Distracted from her first response by the sight of the cigarette, Parker watches him light it, then shakes herself. "At this point, nothing anyone in this town does for kicks would surprise me. Ferrets in tutus, penguins in bondage wear-- but you're right, I really don't want to know." Keeping a wary eye on him, she turns back to the path. "Excuse me."

"We're having a conversation now?" Parker's hand went into her purse, resting on her handgun, even as she inhaled the smoke from his cigarette, damnit. Her other hand strayed to her back, where the holy water gun was holstered.

"Interesting. I thought the guy who owned the bar was just out for a smoke. Now, there's talking, next, you'll ask me for a date, then, I'll have to tell you what I did to my last two boyfriends. It'll all end badly. I think we should leave this as a happy dream we both remember, don't you?"

Parker stared at the cigarette like it's going to bite her. "I quit," she said, not taking her eyes off it, then blinked.

"What the hell do you know about Angelus?"

Parker's left hand went out for the cigarette of its own volition, and she rolled it between her fingers as she studied him, taking another step back.

"Do you now?" Vampire? She couldn't be sure. "I don't think I caught your name. And what have you heard that makes you think that soul condition is going to change?" Then she grins. "'Magnificent poof'?"

"Maybe I am. Although I wonder how you'd know *I* was the one to tell."

Seven weeks without a cigarette. She'd have to start over....

Fuck it. After this week, she deserved one.

She lit her cigarette off his lighter, keeping her eyes on him, open and watching. She smiled as she inhaled, then asked, "So, Mr. No-Name-Friend-of-Poof. Tell me a story."

"I'm holding a lit cigarette in front of someone who may, or may not, be highly flammable. Don't push it," Parker said, inhaling again. "How much? Dollars, deustchmarks, security bonds, diamonds?"

Parker's smile died immediately. "Now you have my attention. Quit dancing and make your play." She inhaled sharply from the cigarette, then dropped it and ground it out under her heel into the snow.

Parker was now extremely sorry she'd made the dramatic gesture with the cigarette. Another hit of nicotine would've been great.

"Others?" she asked. Then shook her head sharply. "No, don't answer that."

Calculatingly, she studied him, then nodded. "No souling for your girl. No hunting her down with pitchforks and torches to finish the job. But no promises if ex-Professor Drusilla shows up anywhere near them. This is not a magically stupid binding promise 'til my death or beyond. Just my best effort. Good enough?"

"Crap." Parker ran a hand through her hair, thinking. "Any names? Places? Times? Details? Soon as in days, or weeks?"

She wanted to throw them away. She did.

"I'll keep that in mind," Parker said, shoving the pack in her purse. "If you keep up your end of it. No killing Marty or the others, and Crazy Squid Lady won't hear any bad news from me." Not that I'd go looking for her. "I'll give Fangs the Poof your regards-- Spike?" she said, suddenly remembering the name of the pub.

Parker stood there a moment, then stomped off down the path toward Sanctity, more furious than before.

If only I could give Belthazor *sense*, the way we gave Angelus a soul... ha.

After closing up the shop for the night, Aziraphale pulls on his overcoat and a scarf and heads out for a stroll in the park. Spotting a young man he doesn't recognize -- and having made a resolution to at the very least meet all of his fellow townspeople -- he heads over to say hello.

"Lovely night, what?"

"Indeed we haven't." He holds out a hand, smiling warmly. "Aziraphale. I run the rare book shop. Pleasure to meet you."

"Oh yes, I've been to your pub! Delightful place. I'm rather friends with your bartenders."

Aziraphale smiles pleasantly and ignores the slight, slipping his hands into his pockets instead and inviting himself to sit on the end of Spike's bench.

"From here and there, really," he answers evasively. "London most recently. Rather different from here, isn't it?"

"Yes, I know Yazoo and his brothers. I don't believe I've met Chewbacca yet -- I'll have to make certain to stop by when he's in."

He settles comfortably back against the bench, stretching his legs out and crossing them at the ankles, and looks out across the park.

"My dear, I've met the most amazing assortment of people here in Fandom. How do you figure that I don't look the type?" Aziraphale laughs softly.

Aziraphale raises an eyebrow. "Perhaps I'm in disguise," he says with a chuckle.

"I rather like this town, actually. It's full of the most interesting people. What brings you here?"

There's another laugh, and Aziraphale waves his hand at the pond. "I imagine it's gets crowded, what with all of the other bathers."

He turns his head to look directly at Spike. "I rather doubt the waters are going to be of much use to you, my dear."
