The door slammed open and if Lilah had been looking at it at the right time she might have been a shimmer of movement as something passed inside. If she didn't, it would merely feel like a wind passing by.
"That's ever weirder than normal," Lilah frowned and walked over to the door, opening and closing it a few times. The lock seemed to be holding now, and the door opened and closed smoothly on its hinges. "Huh."
"It's not for sale," Tex smirked. In the back of her head she rattled off a list of what it could do. Her fingers tightening around the rifle she was holding.
Lilah rose, walked into Holland's old office, closed the door behind her, turned around three times counterclockwise, spit over her left shoulder, walked over to the bust of Ronald Reagan and lifted his head, pressed the button that was revealed, and waited for the safe to rise up from the floor in the corner.
She retrieved an envelope, then touched the safe gently and waited until it sank back into the floor. She left the office and presented the envelope to Tex. "Five fifty, as agreed."
Lilah rolled her eyes, but opened the envelope and began laying fifty dollar bills on the table until eleven were laid out in a straight line. "Would you like a counterfeit detecting pen?"
"Not necessary," Tex pulled the gun out of the holster that usually kept her M6D and laid it down on the desk. She then picked up the money and put it back in the envelope.
Lilah picked up the gun and made a show of inspecting it. "I assume that standard rules apply--if I get caught with it, I never met you before, yadda yadda."
Tex shook her head, as if to shake something up. "Yes," she said and then hit the device on her arm again. She disappeared again, but the outlines of her figure would probably still stand out against the background as Lilah was looking right at her.
"Yes, very sure. Got a lot more tricks to show the town," Tex laughed again and moved to the door. It pulled open and she left it like that as she disappeared.

She walked back to the desk, picked up the gun, and promptly locked it into the safe in Holland's office.
