[The Perkolator: Friday, Nov 9, around 2:00pm FHST]
Krycek ordered a small coffee and sat at a table near the window with his notepad at the ready. He looked like he was waiting for someone in particular, tapping his pencil against the paper idly as he let his mind wander.

fill spacebe interesting to find out about things that other students would be celebrating. First though, where are you from?" Krycek smiled, pen at the ready. "As specific as you're comfortable with," he added.no subject
He fiddled with his coffee cup for a moment. "I'm originally from a planet called Tatooine, in what we refer to as the Outer Rim of our galaxy." He smiled. "Which is, um, far, far, away from here. I moved to Coruscant, the world, well, runs the galaxy sounds a bit pompous, but it's definitely houses all of the government headquarters for the Republic." He yanked at his braid. "And also the Temple of the Jedi Order, which is why I lived there."

He frowned. "I've had to learn about a lot of the traditions of the various planets, and there are still celebrations that occur when the sun or suns are hitting their solstice points. The celebration of triumph of light over darkness is a theme that's fairly universal, I believe." He gazed down into his mug. "As for religious overtones, there might still be some on planets that are pretty far from the Core, but for the most part we've moved on to an understanding of the Force--the universal thread that unites all of us--rather than believing in gods or goddesses of any kind."

He took another sip from his cup. "And the Temple's not big on holidays," he said. "They say it's because every day we get to work with the Force should be celebration enough." Anakin snorted. "I've read some of the Archives. I think it was because some of the old Jedi Masters couldn't hold their alcohol at certain public events."

He took another sip from his mug. "I think I like it better than Thanksgiving," he said, "which was a holiday giving praise to food that comes in cans, right?" He grinned. "This one comes with the possibility of gifts. Without holidays at home, we don't do gifts often. So, yeah, I guess I'm a fan of Christmas."

He drained his coffee mug. "It was a pleasure to talk to you," he said sincerely.
