Rare Books Shop -- Holiday Party, Saturday

The shop is decorated with greenery and ornaments, there's a miniature train in the corner and stockings by the fireplace. A spread of hot drinks and homemade snacks waits in the lounge. Aziraphale is wearing, of all things, an Angels baseball jersey and a Santa hat. Crowley is hiding in the kitchen baking. The door is open and all the party lacks is a guest or two to get things started.

There's all manner of treats laid out in the lounge. Enjoy the cracking fire in the fireplace, have something to eat, and chat with the other guests.

Kiki arrives, still looking tired, but very happy. She sets down her things and gives Aziraphale a hug and a small kiss on the cheek.

"Happy Christmas, Mr. Aziraphale," she says with a sweet smile. "I'm going to pop into the kitchen and subject Mr. Crowley to the same, torture, ok?" She picks up a small paper bag to take with her.

Intrigued by his meeting with Phale the other week, Spike takes the local sewer route to the shop and pops into have a look.

As he enters in and sees the homey decorations, he's somewhat repulsed. "Nice place you have here," he sneers.

The day had started with a phone call and a full update with House, a call that had easily gone for two hours. Then, while Wilson had been getting pulled together, another call had come in. This one from PPTH.

Three hours later, Wilson finished getting dressed, his expression pensive as he contemplating what Jack Ash had called him about.

Dressed in a simple black shirt, open at the throat and tucked into nice gray slacks, Wilson had pulled his overcoat on and headed on out the door, MegaPager regretfully clipped to his hip.

The walk into town did him good so by the time he hit the door to the shop, he was all grins and warm twinkles. The place looked amazing and he could see Phale, busy with other guests so the oncologist hung up his coat and headed for the lounge to investigate the fire, food and possibly the train!

Michael enters and stands for a moment, trying to get warm, before hanging up his coat and walking into the lounge. He'd been tired and hadn't even bothered to open the Emporium this morning. Maybe he'd open up later.

The smells of baking and warm drinks invigorate him, and he walks over to watch the miniature train make its rounds.

Sara and Gil come in, the latter clutching a bottle of scotch. Sara makes a beeline for the lounge and snacks.

Pulling a red wagon behind him, loaded with a crock pot and two cubs diligently standing guard so it wouldn't tip, Red trotted up outside Aziraphale's shop.

He pushed in the door and the cubs followed him into the shop. "Can I get a hand outside? I brought wassail."

When faced with a choice of attending a gathering run by someone she didn't know, and staying home with Shirley and her grating voice, going out and being social won.

Carmen entered and glanced around, taking note of all the strangers in the room. She also might have thought of several unique ways to steal the building, but that was just a habit, and not born of any desire to actually commit a crime on this occasion.

Darla stepped into the crowded shop and looked around. All these lovely warm people.

And she couldn't kill any of them. Damn.

That didn't mean she couldn't enjoy a little holiday cheer.

Jarod entered the bookstore. He'd never been to a holiday party before, but he wanted to see how people celebrated the season. Plus, it gave him the opportunity to mingle with other people who lived in town.

GOB walked into the lounge. He'd been here a couple months, but he didn't get around town too much other than Caritas and the Sin, of course. It would probably be a good idea to mingle.

This town is way too active and social, but then bloodshed and tea do go well together. A grunt duck, send by Benedict, takes position at the window to keep an eye on what goes on in the store.

At the Top of the Stairs

Taking a fresh cup of tea and a cinnamon scone, Wilson sort of took Phale up on his offer and he at least retreated up the dark corridor of the stairs, settling down at the top where it was a little quieter than down in the midst of all the chaos.

It seemed to be a good party, given how many students and faculty had already bolted school grounds and Wilson quietly hoped that Phale was enjoying himself. The angel seemed to be in good spirits and as he hadn't seen Crowley go stamping out the door in disgust he had to assume the demon was enjoying his baking.

Exhaling a soft breath, Wilson sipped at his tea and leaned against the stairwell wall.

After a while, Aziraphale excuses himself from his guests and slips away up the stairs, where he is fully aware that Wilson is hiding out. Sitting a coupld of stairs down, turned sideways so he can look at the young doctor, Aziraphale gives him a small smile.

"Taking a break from the party, James dear? Or is there something on your mind?"
