Outside TARDIS

Leaving the scene and letting Loz get Kadaj back to their house, Yazoo didn't bother to go get his bike. As close to town as he already was, it was just a matter of getting to the park.

He slid to a stop in front of the box, looking around at a way to knock...or announce his presence. There wasn't a lot of time.

[The Doctor is reading a small red book, tissue in his hand, when the proximity alarm goes off. Curious, he blinks a few times, getting his mind out of the book--Alarm doesn't go off for CJ, Jack is in, Sunday night, end of term, what? and walks through the corridors to the front door. He opens it a crack against the chill of the evening.] Yazoo? [He blinks, voice growing a bit colder.] Why do you have blood all over?

[identity profile] ten-and-chips.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Ten has never seen any of the brothers like this, hesitant, without force...and then he hears what is being said to him. And he remembers the note she left.
He's screaming on the inside. On the outside, he merely swears under his breath in Gallifreyan. It's a long curse, untranslatable, but his expression says it all. Swallowing hard, he looks Yazoo in the eye and speaks softly, in English.] How long will it take for you to get me there? No questions.

Fuck the cops. [Ten pulls his coat from the hook beside the door and throws it on. His wallet and mobile are in the pocket. Without looking at Yazoo, he slams the door and starts walking towards the causeway.]

[identity profile] ten-and-chips.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Good. Thank you. [Ten gets on the bike, having made three very brief phone calls in the meantime. He clutches Yazoo's waist, expression not changing from solid rock.] Go.

[The Doctor almost marches into the hospital, face almost frozen, and flanked behind by three strange looking men in leather. This doesn't seem to bother him. Without being asked, he has the passport out by the time he gets to the front desk, and addresses the nurse briskly.] Claudia Jean Cregg. Brought here from Alexandria General with Doctor James Wilson. I'm her fiancé. An update on her condition would be appreciated. Here's my ID.

[identity profile] ten-and-chips.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
[He waits. And then he waits some more. Too long will make him go mad, and he isn't in the mood to try any tricks. Turning, he motions for the boys to come closer.] It's all right.

[ooc: *Grabs boot straps and jumps into the fray*]

The reception desk at MCV was a tad more professional and on the ball than Alexandria General but then they had the ability to actually pay their employees.

In very short order the loud speakers reverberated with the message.

~Dr. James Wilson please dial 236, Dr. James Wilson please dial 236~

There was a brief moment, an exchange of the phone and then the young woman behind the station nodded to the four men.

"Dr. Wilson will be down immediately."

Which by the time he navigated the stairwells of the medical college's campus was about 2 minutes. Hitting the door, Wilson spun on one foot, looking up and down the corridor for the familiar faces of Ten and the brothers.

"Professor?!"

[identity profile] ten-and-chips.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ten looks...frozen. Cold. Almost emotionless. His tone is vaguely sarcastic.] Dr Wilson. We had a bit of a goose chase getting here. What's her condition?

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah he'd been looking forward to this about as much as he'd been looking forward to a drug free root canal.

Approaching them, closing the distance so he could talk without annoucing it over the entire damn hospital, Wilson set his hands on his hips and address all four men with his eyes before focusing on Ten.

"Grave." He cut through the sarcasm and went directly to the point. "She's in surgery with Masters, has been for the past 45 minutes. They're going to try to relieve the pressure already in her skull and try to give the brain room to swell without further damaging itself."

[identity profile] ten-and-chips.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ten closes his eyes and mutters something in a foreign language, before switching back to English.] Mother of god. [He opens his eyes.] I bloody hate this era. [If I could move her without killing her, and if she'd survive the trip, I'd just take her to the future my own damn self. Sucking his lower lip under his front teeth, he appears about ready to snap. But his voice is only slightly strained.] And what do you anticipate are her odds, Dr Wilson?

[identity profile] dr-jwilsonmd.livejournal.com 2005-12-19 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Given Ten's history with hospitals and his general distrust for the medical profession, Wilson decided not to even attempt to soften or otherwise sugar coat the situation. Most of the time, the effort was necessary but he knew enough about the professor in front of him to understand it wouldn't be particularly appreciated.

"The swelling is severe but Masters is the best on the East Coast with these sorts of head traumas." A subtle nod back towards the whole goose chase crack. There was a reason Wilson had insisted on moving CJ first and foremost and while it was regretable that he hadn't been able to contact Ten before hand, CJ had come first.

"Time was not on our side but we were able to buy time, however until she comes out of surgery...30% survival without substantial mental complications. When she comes out of surgery that number doubles."

During the day: Monday

[identity profile] ten-and-chips.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Sending emails from his mobile doesn't take too much time, certainly not enough time to matter if one's been waiting twelve hours.

The Doctor estimates that he's heard 'Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire' at LEAST ten times in that same period; Kenny G playing 'Hava Nagila' at least six; and Mannheim Steamroller's version of 'Joy to the World' approximately fifteen times.

He can't sleep, Time magazine makes him laugh in a very unpleasant manner, and the brothers probably don't know how to play any of the same card games he does--not like any of the four of them would want to.

Around ten he places a phone call to Adam and falls asleep sitting up, fitfully.]

About noon, Methos shows up and starts hunting through the hospital. If he'd gotten any sleep, it would have occured to him to ring Ten on the cell phone. But as it is, he's stumbling around asking after CJ Cregg and not tracking well.

[From somewhere in the hospital, Ten wakes up with a start (http://www.livejournal.com/users/ten_and_chips/18758.html).

Shaking it off, he decides to go for a bit of a walk.]

Methos catches sight of him from a distance. "Ten!" he called, sprinting to catch up. "Wait!"

[identity profile] ten-and-chips.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Ten pauses, then turns at the sound of the familiar voice. When he sees Methos, his jaw drops.] Adam. Oh, thank god. [He appears to be frozen, brow furrowed in thought and pain.]

[Methos grabs him, holding tight.] How is she? What's happening?

[Ten puts his head down on Methos' shoulder. Exhausted, he begins to sob.] Adam...
