The Perk, Late Afternoon

Looking a little more cheerful than she has oh, the last week or so, Aeryn orders her usual small black coffee, and takes a seat at a table to wait for Callisto.

"Hey, Aeryn," Ordering her own coffee, Callisto sat opposite Aeryn. "You wanted to talk about something?"

"Yes," she says. "And I kind of can't believe I have to even ask this."

"Ask what?" Callisto frowned.

Aeryn sighs, shakes her head, and decides she may have to kill him anyway. "Angel is interested in you, and he wanted me to find out if you'd be interested in going on a date with him."

"Angel, me, date?" Callisto was not flailing internally, really. "Not wouldn't, would, but...soul, loophole?"

She shakes her head again. "If everyone could sting together sentences so that I can understand them, I'd really appreciate it. What was that?"

"Angel wants me to go on a date with him?" Callisto squeaked.

"Yes."

"But, I thought he couldn't, not that I wouldn't, but he keeps going on about 'no talking'."

"'No talking'?" Aeryn repeats. "Why couldn't he... do what? I'm a little lost."

"Not talking, talking or activities that might lead to talking," Callisto was not turning red, at all. "Or, poof, no soul."

Aeryn's pretty sure she's following. "I thought the loophole was perfect happiness," she says. "Recreating is all it takes?"

"Perfect happiness?" Callisto stopped mid-flail. "Not sex?"

"I was told perfect happiness," Aeryn says, thinking back. "Unless he equates the two, which... I would hope there's a difference."

"Stupid vampire," Thud.

"Typical male," Thud.

"Gonna kill him," Thud thud thud.

"Stop that," Aeryn tells her, looking a little concerned at all the thudding. "We now know he's typical of human males. Would you kill him before or after the date you would have gone on except for the misinterpreted loophole?"

"After," Callisto sat back up, a slightly murderous glint in her eye.

Aeryn tries not to smile. "I'll let him know," she says.
