The Emporium is open -- Wednesday

Michael opened up shop and settles behind the counter, pleased that both the new window (openable by a certain feathered friend) was installed and that the delivery guy had arrived with the packages he'd been waiting for. Ben was puttering around in the back room, and Michael was puzzling how to get the packages upstairs without him noticing.

"Hey, Han," Michael nods with a smile. "Getting ready for that bonfire I saw the fliers for?"

"Yeah. Promised a feast, so I'm doing a feast." He gave Michael a wink. "And you just know I'm gonna be eating the leftovers for a month."

Michael laughs. "That's the best part of throwing a big party. If there's anything I can help you find, let me know."

"I think I can manage." Han grows a little more serious and steps up closer. "Would it be okay if I came by to talk to you and Ben later, after the holidays? I'm gonna need a grown-up perspective."

Michael raises an eyebrow. "Sure." Thinking on it a moment longer, he asks, "Is it a relationship thing?"

Han nods. Then, without another word, he heads back into the store to do his shopping.

Han didn't look happy about the subject, and that could only mean one thing: boy trouble. Michael gave him a look of sympathy as Han walked away to shop.

Having finally rounded everything up, Han brings it all to the register.

"You two coming out for the party? Townsfolk are welcome."

Michael nods as he rings up the items and gives Han a total. "We'll try to make it out, if only for a little while. We don't get much of a chance to socialize with people from the school too often."

Han nods. "It'll be a good time. See you later."


He takes the goodies and goes.
