I hurt myself today to see if I still feel I focus on the pain the only thing that's real the needle tears a hole the old familiar sting try to kill it all away but I remember everything what have I become? my sweetest friend everyone I know goes away in the end and you could have it all my empire of dirt
I will let you down I will make you hurt
I wear this crown of thorns upon my liar's chair full of broken thoughts I cannot repair beneath the stains of time the feelings disappear you are someone else I am still right here
what have I become? my sweetest friend everyone I know goes away in the end and you could have it all my empire of dirt
I will let you down I will make you hurt
if I could start again a million miles away I would keep myself I would find a way
The song is one of his favorites, and it is highly appropriate for his mood of late. He's working his way out of that somber mood, but it still lingers in spots.
He enjoys Lorne's performance just the same, and taps his foot with the beat, mouth moving with the words he knows well.
"It is," Rory nodded, handing over the bag. "And yeah, I'm Rory." She frowned. "So, Marty told me you're not...our Angela. Which makes sense, because you look different. But you know who I am?"
"Kind of," Angela explains. "I'm from a different ... universe, or stream of time, or something. I don't know the science bit."
"But in my world, you're someone I went to eleventh grade with for about three weeks. I remember that you were really nice, and I kind of recoggnized you, but as far as I know I hadn't seen you in ten years."
She sighs, playing with her straw. "None of this makes sense to me."
"Yeah, that's bizarre," Rory said, arching a brow. "Because you - sixteen year-old you, I mean - were just here yesterday. And now you're older and..." She bit her lip. "What's the first thing you remember after...um, getting here, I guess?"
GOB walked into Caritas, figuring that he might be able to get in some practice with card tricks at the bar. Or, more likely, he might just get drunk. Both were fine by him.
And then he saw the woman at the bar. "Hello there," he said, walking up to Angela.
He'd done a little shopping in town, and decided to stop by Caritas before heading home. He'd heard good things about the bar, but hadn't found time to drop in. Tonight seemed as good a night as any, and he went to the bar, ordered a glass of the finest scotch, on the rocks.
He settled in a chair to nurse his drink and soak in the atmosphere. He's pain free and feeling pretty good in general, if still a little out of sorts about certain things.
"Coming up. Don't believe I've seen you in here before. The name's Krevlornswath of the Deathwok clan, though I just go by Lorne. I'm the owner, lead singer and head bartender here at Caritas."
Lorne offers up a coke.
"Most of the kids go for a couple of cherries in their drinks, but you don't seem the type."
"No, cherries won't be necessary. Greg House. I work at the clinic at the school. First time, tonight. I don't make it in to town after dark very often." House takes a sip of the coke.
A wee girl with wings and scales slips inside the door and sits quietly in a corner by the entrance watching the people drink and smile and sing. Some faces she recognizes. After a while, she turns and leaves, satified that this is a haven of safety and chalks it up to the angel's active influence.
The Band - [12/22]
Re: The Band - [12/22]
to see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
the only thing that's real
the needle tears a hole
the old familiar sting
try to kill it all away
but I remember everything
what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
and you could have it all
my empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
I wear this crown of thorns
upon my liar's chair
full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
beneath the stains of time
the feelings disappear
you are someone else
I am still right here
what have I become?
my sweetest friend
everyone I know
goes away in the end
and you could have it all
my empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
if I could start again
a million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

Tino gives her A Look and refuses to serve her the drink.
She settles for a diet Coke.

"Angela?" she asked, approaching her.
