Tuesday Morning

Taking a large cup of coffee and her brand new very old copy of Neruda's Cien sonetos de amor/One Hundred Love Sonnets outside, she sits in a chair beside the TARDIS in the park, watching the sunrise. She also has a tablet and a pencil, and occasionally she jots down thoughts and memories as they gradually return to her...jumbled and out of context. She watches the people out for their morning...whatever it is they do here...sipping her coffee and reading.

Red had to run to the town hall office to pick up something before he opened his shop for the day. On his way back through, he took a turn through the park and noticed CJ sitting outside and enjoying the morning.

Cutting through, he trotted up to her and nodded, setting his folder on the grass and putting a paw over it to keep the breeze from picking it up. "Good morning, CJ. How are you?"

When she squeaked, he started, poised and ready, looking around at what may have startled her. When he realized it was him she squeaked at, he chuckled and sat down. Best just to play it cool. "I came by to see how you were doing. I had talked with Geoff Chaucer last week and he mentioned you had been in an accident. I'm glad to see you up and about."

Red smiled. "Am I starting to mumble? I do that sometimes when trying to talk around all my teeth," and he showed her his teeth in a cheeky grin.

"My apologies, I suppose this means you don't remember me." Red said with a nod and he stopped smiling. He took several steps back. "I was the artist that put the tattoo on your ankle."

"I think it held some importance for you, that was the impression I had when you picked it out," Red said. He could see her relax just a bit and he shifted a bit closer.

Clearing his throat, Red held his chin up. "I'm Red. I own a tattoo, piercing and jewelry shop in town. I'm also the mayor of Fandom Town and the father to two orphaned cubs of my same species." He grinned sheepishly. "As for what I am, I'm not from this place and it's kind of hard to describe. Especially since I don't know myself."

"I hope so. I'm not a bad sort," Red said in a teasing voice. "And you do throw excellent parties. Your birthday was quite a success! I hope we can make it an annual thing."

Seeing that she was becoming more relaxed with his presence, Red stretched out on the ground, his head resting on his file folder. "It was this huge festival. Some medieval theme with jousting and costumes and music and food."

"Yes!" Red said enthusiastically. "So you remember that part."

"As an artist, I believe," Red said cheerfully. "It was quite fun," he added. "Something I'd like to do every year, township picking up the tab."

"Just the person I was hoping to see!" Geoff calls from the edge of the park. Striding over, he leans down and gives CJ a soft kiss and then straightens and steps back.

"You're looking well, milady. It's good to see you home again."

[ooc: Slowplaying today, hope that's all right.]

"I had a very good Christmas, CJ." He drops to one knee so he can talk without looming over her. "Um...what do you mean by 'someone you actually know'?"

"You'll get it back, CJ. I'm sure you will. And if you need help...you gave me a commission, a while ago, to write some tales for you about Fandom. I've got an excellent eye for detail, and a fair amount of notes."

Geoff squeezes her hand. "We'll all help you get it back."

"I'll put them in order for you, CJ. Or..." He raises a questioning eyebrow. "Maybe I'll come and read them to you sometime, if you like."

Blushing a little bit as well, Geoff says, "Don't worry, my lady. I know why."

He leans over and gives her a kiss on the cheek. "I should be going, and you should be resting. If there's anything at all that you need, Ten knows my number, and I'll come by and see you again soon."

Standing, he reaches down for a quick, warm hug. "Give my love to Ten, would you? And say hello to Jack for me."
