Park - Tuesday Morning
Alanna had pulled back her boy-short hair back with a bit of ribbon, grabbed the bag she had packed last night and a sleeping Faithful, and set off for the park to meet Angela. The spell had been in her book, and another version for things that were "alive". It was times like these that Alanna could finally understand what her twin found so fascinating about the Gift.

"We don't need to try again tomorrow," she says slowly. "You looked like you really tried, and I don't want you to hurt yourself for this. I can try to find another way home."
If she's blinking, hard, it's not because she's about to cry. Really.

She wonders whether these are the ducks with knives the Tick warned her about, or the friendly ones Phale liked to fees.

Angela tucks her head under her arms and bends down, hoping to get out of the duck's way.

"Are you laughing at me?" she asks the duck. Hey, the cat talked...

Walking backward, Angela stumbles until she hits the path that will take her out of the park, then slowly traces her way to the sidewalk. She never takes her eyes off the hissing fowl.
It seems very menacing. For a duck.
