Wednesday Morning at the Perk
She'd give anything for a shower. Keeping the cast dry is a pain in the butt. But she's up and dressed and ready to get back in the swing of things. She'd met the mayor yesterday, and not much could be more bizarre than chatting with the CHeshire Cat's bigger, more frightening, brother. But he'd turned out to be really nice, and he knew her even if she didn't know him, and he'd been understanding. Overall, people here were pretty nice and it was time to go meet them.
Tucking her tablet and a book into a sling bag, she left a note for Ten telling him she'd be at the local coffee shop...because there had to be one, right? She set out in search of a vanilla latte, and was not disappointed. Leaning her crutches against the wall, she sits and watches for faces she recognizes...or that recognize her.

The kitten mews and Ten responds with "Yes, you did." Another mew, more planitive. "What do you mean, a treat? You don't deserve any treat."
He smiles at CJ. "Her language skills are improving."

And a couple of little half and half thingies for Maeve. Because he's a sucker.

"Thanks for the coffee. I, um, haven't changed, right? Still and always a vanilla latte?"

He settles into the chair next to her. "Well, she's harder to buy jewelry for, so I think you're still in the lead. And aye, vanilla latte. I think that's too hardwired into your brain
because Rhi can't remember what kind of coffee CJ drinks."no subject

"I can't find her and her phone keeps going straight to voicemail. So does Tara's. It's as if they've disappeared."
Maeve makes a sad whimpering noise.

"What do you mean, they've disappeared? People don't just disappear."

Maeve leaps from CJ's lap to his, climbing his coat with her claws and rubbing her fur against his cheek.
