Red's Open

Red padded down the stairs, the cubs practically underfoot as they trotted along. Giving him worried looks, they had been surprisingly quiet since he returned from the City Hall.

He hadn't been injured nor was he sore, but Red was contemplative. The confrontation with Tex wasn't pleasant and he knew it wouldn't be long before she would try again. For all the ludicrous rantings she spewed, he was bothered that even without her guns, which he found the lack thereof rather suspicious, she was quite formidable and one person (or being) going against her may not be enough next time.

Regardless, he felt like he might have a few days before worrying about that. Pushing it aside, he set his calls from the town hall to forward to the shop and he opened for business.

((ooc: mun will be afk most of the day. if you comment, I'll get to you asap.))

Seeing the shop open after a long night politely waiting outside, The Tick walked in and addressed the mayor. "Hello, Mayor Red! I need to talk to you about something."

[OOC: Slowplay works for me as I'm heading out the door to go to work right now.]

"Thank you, Mr. Mayor," Tick said as he walked into the shop. "I assume you know about the situation with Tex, sir. I'm here to help! And I have information!"

Tick took a deep breath before launching into what he knew. "The other day, Tex - who is not herself, I've been told - had a duck army attack one of my students. Last night I found out about this, and on my way to City Hall to offer my help to you, I was stopped by a ghost named Church - who knows Tex from her home, I guess - who is currently possessing another student. According to Church, Tex is being possessed by someone named O'Malley, who is evil and crazy, and wants to get into Tex's weapons locker and kill everyone in Fandom. The only way to stop O'Malley is to have somebody who can stand up to him in a fight - which would be me - fight her until Church can also possess Tex and defeat O'Malley from within Tex. Or something like that." Tick took another breath, hoping that all made some kind of sense despite the jumbled gendered pronouns. He wasn't sure what pronoun to use in reference to a male consciousness possessing a female body.

"Oh, and apparently O'Malley can escape the Justice that is coming to him by using radio waves somehow, so we need to get all of the radio signals on the island turned off before we attempt this. Church told me to talk to you about doing that."

Tick thought for a moment, then shook his head. "I'm actually not sure about that. Church's briefing was, well, brief. He did say that the radios were the only thing stopping him from going after O'Malley already. You'd have to talk to Church to get more detail."

"Duck!" Tick yelled, as he saw the fowl villain. "You know, this would probably be more terrifying if it wasn't a duck army," he pondered out loud.

[OOC: Well, Tex-mun is asleep and we've already cleared the major exposition, so I doubt there'd be a problem with it.]

"Sounds good to me, Mr. Mayor." Tick started to walk to the door, looking for duck spies. "I'll talk to Church. We'll get coordinated. And then we'll thwart whatever this O'Malley guy is planning. I'll be in touch."

The Tick was really feeling quite superheroey these past couple days. He thought it was probably the dramatic statements that added the extra bit of excitement that he thrived on.

Unnoticed by either speaker, a duck wedged himself into the doorway before it shut all the way. He listened intently to their conversation, hoping to learn something he could report back to Benedict.
