After an impromptu trip to Alexandria the day before, Michael settled in behind the counter to wait for customers. Hunter and Mara were puttering around the store, discussing the need for Fandom-related tourist-trap items.

As part of Paige's romancefest for New Year and her trip to Vienna with Sawyer she has a huge list of items to buy. Also she luckily has money, thanks to her overgenerous boyfriend.

She's also carrying a bag and grinning madly.

"Hey Michael, how was your Christmas?"

Michael smiles. "Good to see you, Paige. We had a good holiday." He digs out pictures of his daughter from the holidays and slides them over the counter. "Spoiled my kids, as usual. You look like you had a good holiday too -- haven't seen you look this happy in ages." He nods to the couple wandering the store. "You remember Hunter. And that lovely lady there is his fiancee, Mara."

She looks over the photos and smiles, "very cute,"

She looks at him, "Christmas was...interesting, I'm more happy about New Year, I have plans, big plans and me and James are going to Vienna next week, I'm pretty excited.

She waves over at Hunter and Mara then places the bag on the table, "I got you some stuff while I was in Seattle," she says, "sorry it's a bit late!"

The bag contains His and His towels, which she thought were cute, 2 silk shirts and a bottle of Champagne.

"Vienna! Wow. That's some present." Michael looks in the bag. He laughs at this His and His towels and fawns over the shirts, but gives her a rather parental look at the champagne. "I'm not going to ask how you acquired this," he scolded gently. "This is all very thoughtful of you, Paige. Thank you." He pulls out a gift bag from under the counter and hands it to her. "It's a present from his...guardian actually," it's possible she said that with a slight tone of bitterness, in truth he was the man who'd lead Sawyer to conning. "I guess he wants to check me out, oh and we went to Seattle with someone over the age of 21, no funny business in getting the Champagne, I promise!"

She pulls out the books looking very interested in the ink painting one, "wow Michael these are great thank you! I didn't tell you I drew did I?"

Michael grins. "I don't think you did tell me that. I'm glad you like them." He laughs. "Be careful what you tell me, I might recruit you to work on the new comic book -- if I ever get a story line for it."

She smiles, "hey if I can get class credit for it count me in! I'm planning on taking art this semester,"

Michael's smile is wide. "Hey, if we can work it out with the teacher, sure. Start practicing sketching Ben -- he's the model for my superhero."

She smiles, "does he know?"

Then she reaches into her pocket for her list and hands it to Michael.

"I need these for New Years eve do you have them?"

"Hmm. The rose petals..." He goes to the back and digs in a box. "The Valentine's Day stuff ships really early, otherwise I might not have that. Everything else you should be able to find easily." He grins. "Yes, he knows. He's completely embarrassed by it, but he knows."

She smirks a little, "Guess I got lucky then, I didn't really want to spend the whole of tomorrow pulling petals off a bunch of roses, plus James would have been pretty likely to have noticed something like that!"

She wonders off around the shop and returns about ten minutes later with all the stuff she needs including a pink jumper, she needed to be warm on their little European trip. She places it all in front of him still grinning, she was very excited about about what she had planned for tomorrow.

"I'll take these then please,"

"Vacuum sealed. They might stay fresh forever." Michael totals up the items. "That's $32.18."

Hunter comes to the front, his arm around Mara, and surveys the items as Michael bags them. "Someone has some nice romantic notions," he remarks with a grin.

"More than you ever do," Mara retorts, her smile belying her words.

"They only need to stay fresh until tomorrow well the day after I guess if we're being technical.

Paige grins back at Hunter and Mara, "yeah I have big plans, I'm asking my boyfriend to move in with me after the ball tomorrow night, although he already pretty much has!"

Michael raised an eyebrow. "They allow that in the dorms?" He wasn't going to bring up the last time she'd moved in with a guy here.

She nods, "sure, Phoebe lives with Bel, they don't seem to have a problem with it and if they do, well I guess we'll just look for somewhere to stay in town."

Michael shrugs and mutters something about young'uns these days. "I wish you luck. Cohabitating is a big step, even if he's been staying over a lot."

Paige is conveniately blanking everything that happened with Geoff.

She nods, "yeah I know but...I think we'll be okay, I just don't like him not being there," she can't really go into how much they need each other, Sawyer would probably freak out if other people knew about his parents and what his life had been like before he came here, they had a lot in common really.

She hands him her credit card, it didn't feel right using Sawyer's money to buy these things, it was meant to be a treat for him.

Michael runs the card through and hands Paige a pen and the receipt. "It's nice having someone there all the time. I really hope it works out for you."

She signs it and hands it back to him, "I really think it will," she replies, since the attack on Christmas Eve Paige had thought a lot about how much she loved him, she couldn't bare the thought of losing him.

Michael smiles. "So will we be seeing you two on New Year's Eve? I know there's the white-tie thing at the hotel, and I hear there's going to be festivities at Caritas as well."

She nods, "I hope so we're going to the ball, I ready picked out a suit for James and found myself a gown. We're staying there as well, I'm really looking forward to it. Crowley has very good taste," she pauses and bites her lip, "for a demon I mean,"

"I'd be careful around him if I were you," Michael said. Crowley always made him uneasy. "But I certainly hope the two of you have a good time. It seems like it should be fun."

Paige nods, "Yeah I know, I wouldn't underestimate him." she picks up her bags, I'll see you tomorrow then I guess>"

((OMG the badness that's happening to Paige at the ball now *weeps*))

"I hope so. Have a good day, Paige."

((ooc: Have had so much bad crap going on this week that I haven't decided whether I want to throw my boys into the lion's den or not. Haven't read much either.))

She smiles as she opens the door, "you too, all of you," she replied looking over at Hunter and Mara.
