Being the flash bastard he is, Crowley walks through town in the wee hours of the morning, his mobile held lightly in his hand. He hisses into it every ten yards. Tiring of the repetition, and the distinct similarity to an ad campaign, he snaps his fingers at the wires and router boxes, and of course at the bloody ugly cell phone tower that was woefully disguised as a tree. He smiled with satifaction at a job ~~evilly~~ well done, and retired to soak up the wafting frustration.

Static and hissing can garble your message, making it sould like you're saying something else. Your calls can be dropped at any moment. They can just not connect.
