Fred took a deep breath and walked into the bar. She did not want Lorne to ask her to leave, she wanted to find out what was going on, after talking to Paige about people being on different time flows and getting deposited here, it made sense.

"Hello Mr. Lorne." Fred said in a cautious voice.

CJ comes in with her tablet and slides into her seat at the bar. They really oughta put her name on this chair.

"Tino, skip the sour and beer me."

Lorne waves off Tino and pours the beer for CJ himself. "Hey Puddin'! How's your noggin doing these days? Did you come back to remind yourself how wonderful I am?"

"Always, sugar. If I don't have my Lorne fix, I get all despondant." Smiling brightly, she sips the beer. "I'm about 75% back...as far as I can tell. And I have my notes...no good spin can come without good notes. When are you gonna sing with me again?"

"Well honey, I'd love to sing with you again... All you have to do is ask!"

Jarod sat at the bar. He waved Tino off when the man offered to serve him. He had questions for Lorne, and would sing for the answers if necessary.

"Jerry! What brings you in on your night off? Don't tell me you missed me?"

He smiled. "I did, but really I came for advice, if you have a minute."

Lorne cocked his eyebrow at his employee. "Well how would you like to go about it Jerry? We could do it the old fashioned way and you can spill it over some cheap rot gut while I pick your brain, or you could sing me a little tune and I can tell you anything you want to know."

Jarod, still wary of being read completely, decided to opt for the first option. "Why don't we start with the rotgut and move on from there?"

He fidgeted on the stool a little.

Lorne gave Jarod a concerned look and pulled up a bottle of whiskey and poured him a glass. "Kid? You got me worried here? I don't have to worry about some black limo coming to pull you away, do I?"

"No, no black limo. I have a date tomorrow," Jarod admitted. "And I've never been on one before." He figured kissing Parker in the basement of The Centre that one time didn't really count.

"You're asking dating advice? From me? The confirmed old bachelor?" Lorne said with a grin on his face.

"Well you've come to the right place. First, who's the lucky date?"

Jarod smiled back. "Her name's Rose. I met her here the other night, at Miss Parker's birthday party."

"Hmmm... I don't think I've met her. What do you know about her? Better yet... what do you want to know about her?"

He shrugged. "I know she traveled a lot before she came here, and that there's something in her past that makes her sad. And I guess I'd like to know...anything."

"Hmmm... Do you know anything about what she likes to do? Or what kind of food she likes? See... the first date is important. If you fail there? It's allllllll downhill. You could recover, but it's an uphill battle."

Jarod paled slightly. "No, I don't know any of that. We're meeting for coffee tomorrow afternoon. Should I cancel? Should I call her back and ask? I had no idea dating was so complicated."

"I'm so glad I came to talk to you, Lorne. This is very helpful."

"No! No! You're instincts are good. Coffee is quiet. Intimate. It's where you take her from there that's important. For a walk in the park? Dinner?"

"Maybe a walk in the park," Jarod said, "depending on the weather and what time it is when we're done at the coffee shop, I guess. Are there topics I shouldn't bring up? Things I shouldn't say?"

After stopping by Luke's ~~which hasn't been played yet~~, Veronica and Piper go to hang out at Caritas.

"Hey, boss!" Veronica says when she sees Lorne. "I forgot to tell you last night that I heard from my friend."

"Wonderful! When can I expect to see Neptune's favorite hoodlum?" Lorne says with a sly grin.

"He's supposed to roll into town tomorrow, so I'll bring him by on Monday if you want," she says, her own grin firmly in place.

Lorne waves his arm. "Awww. Bring the kid by tomorrow! I'm going to be around most of the day. I'd love to meet the guy."

"Okay, I'll try. I'm not sure what time he's going to get here, though. ~~or what drama is going to happen with Lilly and/or Logan.~~"

Lorne tries not to pout ~~but will be looking to watch for the drama because who doesn't like Eli?~~, but nods. "Well I look forward to finally meeting the dear boy. He won't have a problem singing for me? It *is* part of the job application process..."

"Um, I kind of didn't mention that part to him," she says. "He made me promise that *I* wouldn't try to make him sing."

"Well that's a pickle! How am I supposed to interview him? Know his dreams? His desires? ~~What wax he uses to shine his head?~~" Lorne looks a little distressed.

"Well, I didn't promise that no one else would try to make him sing," she says, with a sly grin.

"You're a tricky one, Rhonda. That's why I like you. You going to favor me with a song tonight?"

"Sure, got a request ~~cause I'm too lazy to think of anything~~?"

"How about something from that musical we are going to see next weekend?"

"Oh! I can do that," she says, heading for the stage.
