He should have done this a week ago.

Han slogs to Red's shop in the morning. He's followed the instructions precisely and everything looks okay, but he wants a professional opinion.

Looking up, Red saw Han and nodded his head. He grinned and put his mouthstick down. "Good morning, Han. How are you?"

"Hey Red. I'm fine. Just came back in to get my tattoos checked, like you said."

"Excellent," Red said, leaping down to cross over to a chair in the front of the shop. "How has it been? Given you any problems?"

"No, sir, no trouble. They itched a little, but I didn't scratch. I've kept 'em clean and used the ointment like the directions said. I think they're doing okay."

"Let's have a quick look to see if anything needs touching up." Red turned on the light for the chair and pushed his stool over.

Han takes off his jacket and shirt before sitting down.

"You did a great job on these, Red. I know you weren't thrilled. He was, though, and they make me feel a little better."

Han has indeed taken good care of his arms.

Looking carefully at one arm, then sliding his stool around to the other arm, Red was very pleased with the way they turned out. "Looks good, no need for touch ups, they healed very nicely."

He sat down and nodded. "I won't deny that I'm always reticent to tattoo names on someone's body but they make you happy." Grinning, Red gave a sort of shrug.

"I saw the Millenium Falcon has gone. Is everything alright there?"

"Yeah, Chewie got called home on some business. He figured I'd be safe enough here that he didn't need to pull me from school for two months to take me along. He'll be back for me in May."

Han sighs, looking very alone. "I'm in the dorms now, and just trying to make it through until then."

Red tilted his head. He could tell Han was having a hard time dealing with it. A paw on Han's arm, Red gave him a gentle smile. "If you ever want to talk, you are more than welcome to stop by here. Maybe go for tea or something." Looking around the shop, Red shrugged. "It's just me and the cubs and we like the company."

Han smiles at that and covers the paw with his hand. "Thanks, Red. I'll be okay. My roomie looks out for me, too. I may stop by and play with the little guys, though. They're awful cute, like baby wookiees back home."

Sensing they were being talked about, Pollux and Castor poked their heads around the counter and trotted over to Han. Pollux bounded in little leaps and landed on Han's shoes, leaving Castor to set one of his helix chewtoys close, in case he wanted to throw them.

"Okay. But the offer is open and the cubs would love to have a playmate," Red said.

Han reaches down and scritches Pollux. He seems to know exactly what pelted folk like. He gives Castor's chewtoy a toss, hoping the cubs will follow it.

"Fuzz therapy," he grins. "Nothing like it in the universe. I gotta get to class. Thanks, Red."

He bends for another scritch of the cubs. "I'll be back to see you guys, okay?"

Pollux squeaked at yip after Han and Castor bounced in place with his helix toy. "Have a good day, Han," Red called after him.

Pippi enters Red's shop and looks around. "Hello? I'm looking for Mayor Red. The Student's Handbook said he can usually be found in here."

Smiling at the young woman, Red nodded. "I am Mayor Red. How are you today?"

"Hello fellow red head." she said pleasantly and not at all bothered by Red's feline nature.

"I'm a new freshman up at the school. And all the other classes are having meetings. So I thought it could be fun to have a small bonfire down at the beach for us freshmen." she pointed in the general direction of Serenity Cove, "My best friends' father warned me not to set fire to anything without checkigng with the authorities first. And since the cove isn't on school grounds that would be you!"

Laughing, Red nodded. "Fellow red heads!" He liked that.

He ducked beneath his counter and rummaged around. Bonking his head on the way back up, he shook his head, but held a sheet of paper in his mouth, which he placed on the counter in front of him. "Just give me your name and contact information, the date and time you want to hold the bonfire and I'll see it gets filed with the right office. We don't want the fire responders coming out to put out your fire!"

Pippi is predisposed to like anybody with red hair and braids.

She takes the paper and looks at it. "I'm going to have to bring this back a little later. I have to figure out if we can leave school grounds after dark although it could be fun to have a bonfire during the day I guess. Thanks!"

She holds out her hand.

"I'm Pippi Longstockings. I've been warned about an awful lot regarding the school, is there anything I should know about town?"

"We are quiet, for the most part. At this time there is no curfew for the town although I believe there is one for the campus and expect the unexpected!" he said after a little thought. "We're very friendly, I think."

"Yes," she said sullenly, "We may have to wait for the weekend." she brightens right up. "But thank you for the form. I've found everybody I've met in town to be quite pleasent. Even the ones who try very hard to be unpleasent are pleasent!"

Red chuckled. "I hope you enjoy your time at the school and here in town."

"See you." She says as she runs off to class.

Hunter opened the door of Red's, holding it for his fiancee to enter. Having been warned, she wasn't too surprised to see Red -- although he was bigger than she'd thought. Taking a deep breath, she stepped into the shop.

"Hi Red," Hunter greeted him, slipping his arm around Mara.

"Hunter!" Red looked up and grinned at the two as they stepped into his shop. Leaping onto his counter, he sat down and waited for them to come in. "I had heard you were in town. How are you? And this must be Mara!"

"Things are good," Hunter replied. He took Mara's hand and showed off the ring. "And obviously things worked out as planned."

She couldn't help it. The perfectly human speech coming from this...creature sent Mara into a giggle fit. "I'm sorry," she apologized through a teary laugh. "It's just a little bit of...shell shock."

Hunter shrugged. "She was warned. I guess you just have to be seen to be believed." He grinned.

Red laughed as well. "It's all right. I'm told once you get over the shock, I can be quite charming." He noticed the ring and beamed. "How are you enjoying Fandom Town?"

Mara dabbed at her eyes with a tissue as she composed herself. "It's very nice. Charming, in an...unusual sort of way. Although it seems like a good fit for our family."

Hunter nodded his agreement. "If it weren't for jobs and obligations and friends back home, I think I'd seriously consider moving out here myself."

"I like the town myself. It is kind of charming in it's own way." He nodded his head. " AndI'm sure Ben and Michael would love for you to come live here," he said. "But obligations...I understand that very well. Although we could use a comic book shop in town." Laughing, "no pressure."

Hunter laughed. "No pressure, I'm sure. Her corporate job, on the other hand, would be a lot harder to relocate." ~~And mun is not insane enough to bring Hunter in full-time.~~

Mara shrugged, blushing. "I kinda miss the hustle-and-bustle already. I guess I'm just not a small-town kind of gal."

"I can understand that. Small town life isn't for everyone and there's nothing wrong with that. Besides," Red nodded his head, "I'm sure Ben and Michael enjoy the time away from here when they go to visit you two. So it all works out, don't you think?"

Hunter nodded thoughtfully. "They have a lot of reasons to come out and visit -- lots of friends still in Pittsburgh. But this place is really good for them. They get a chance to be a real couple, without having to worry about being harrassed or threatened. I think it's done them a world of good, to not have to worry about stuff like that."

"They are both well liked here. And I'm glad this is a good place for them," Red agreed.

Looking to Mara, he tilted his head. "So when are you two making it official? Have you set a date yet?"

"Not yet," she said quietly, looking at Hunter. "Lots of plans to be made. And a budget to be made. All four parents are behind us, but we're both adults with jobs and I'd hate to ask for too much from either pair. We've joked about having it at the bowling alley, but at the rate we're going, that might be all we can afford!"

"I'm sure wherever you have it, it'll be wonderful. And you have plenty of time to get it together like you want." Red stretched out on the counter. "If there's anything I can do to help, I'll be glad to."

"We will definitely let you know. Especially if we're stuck on rings." Hunter paused. "There is one thing you might help me with right now. We're leaving in the next day or two. My parents' tenth anniversary of being together is next month. Now for wedding anniversaries, ten years is diamond jewelry on the 'modern' lists. Problem is, they don't wear much jewelry except their wedding rings. "Certainly if you find something you like but I don't have it in stock here, I can get it," Red said, sitting up again. "I'll be glad to hold it or ship it to you or wherever you want it to go."

Hunter nodded. "I may have to think on it a little more. If I find something I like, I can get you to order and hold it, right? I'll pay you for them and tell Michael and Ben where to pick their gift up. Or maybe that girl can deliver it -- what's her name, Kiki? I hear she's reliable."

Pippi returns with the completed form to have a bonfire on the beach in Serenity Cove at 7:30 PM on Tuesday.

"Hello Mayor Red. I have the form filled out. We even have a person of adult age to supervise!"

Taking the form, Red puts it in the pile of paperwork he'll take with him to the office in the morning. "Great," he said. "I'll see it gets filed properly. Thank you for being responsible and getting the paperwork squared away before having your bonfire."

Pippi beems, that's the first time anybody has called her responsible she things. "You're very welcome Mayor Red." She says. "Thank you very much. I have to go do some more school stuff. Bye!"

She practically skips out of the shop and back up the hill to the school... If Tommy and Annika hadn't told her that High School Students don't skip that is.
