Rare Books Shop, Tuesday

Yes, for the second day in a row, the bookshop is open. There's still tea (you'll know there's something wrong the day there's not), the fish are keeping watch over the lounge, and the fire is burning in the fireplace. Come buy a book Come buy a book, chat, or play with Aziraphale's ferret. (No, really, it's an actual ferret.)

Between classes, Lee ventures into town and is astonished that he never realized there was a book store. Feeling a bit foolish at how he's never been a patron at such a place, he comes inside to look around a bit.

"Err... hello," he says, a bit abashed that the owner knew his name, but this was fandom and anything is possible. "I -- poetry. I'd like to look at your poetry books, please."

"Anything you particually recommend?" Lee asks. "I'm trying to learn more about Earth poetry, it's very simplistic fascinating."

"I've read a lot of the classics already," Lee says, nodding, "but I've not heard of this Hopkins person...?"

Lee takes the book, looking at it with interest until he sees the fuzzy head of a ferret in the shop keeper's pocket. "Oh, oh my. What is that?" he asks, curiously.

"I've never seen such an animal before -- so this is what a ferret is..." and Lee tentatively reaches over to touch it.

Kiki comes in mid-afternoon, waves to Mr. Aziraphale, and, seeing the place empty of customers, pours herself some tea and plucks a couple of books off the shelves - which she will quite conscientiously put back in the wrong places later. She lies on her stomach on the rug before the fire, propped up on her elbows, feet in the air and crossed at the ankles, her teacup beside her, in one hand a scone and the other holding the pages of Lysistrata open as she reads. Piled beside her are a book of Petrarch and another of Shakespeare's Sonnets.

She's raptly absorbed in her reading, and she pays no attention when Jiji, not seeing Pogo anywhere about, steps lightly onto the middle of the small of her back and curls into a ball to snooze.

Jiji opens one lazy eye, then flicks his tail over the sleeping ferret. Kiki, absorbed in the book, seems pretty oblivious to the fact that the cute quotient of the lounge just ratcheted up exponentially.

[Late Morning/Early Afternoon]

He'd had quite a bit of stiffness in his leg, and had a difficult time getting out of bed. Not impossible, obviously, but not easy either. He'd managed to put Cash out in the coutyard, then retreated to a warm shower.

He left Cash in the apartment and headed to town, not wanting to chance having any sort of problem with the dog with him. Halfway to town, he thought he should have called first, to make sure Aziraphlae would be at the shop, but he didn't stop moving forward. A body in motion stayed in motion, so he kept moving.

He tugged the door open, using his hip to counter his weight and navigate his way inside.

"Tea would be nice," House answers with a bit of a smile. "In the lounge?" He shrugs off his coat and hangs it on a hook.

"Honestly?" He takes the tea and holds it in both hands. "I was close to getting into the Vicodin last night."

"Only because once I sat down I didn't want to get back up." House leans back and slouches a little on the couch. "I wanted to make it two weeks, I made it two weeks."

He quirks a brow at the ferret. "And who might this be?" He puts his hand out, on his thigh, because thankfully it's his good leg.

House's hand moves to pet the ferret. "Nice to meet you Pogo." He draws his gaze up to the fish. He hadn't even noticed them, he'd been more focused on taking care of his leg.

"Looks nice." he smiles. "How many are in there?" He couldn't concentrate enough to count them. The heat from Phale's touch spread through his thigh, easing the stiffness, attacking the ache.
