Rare Books Shop, Wednesday
The 'Open' sign is up at the bookshop. Tea and fish are in the lounge, there's probably a ferret running loose someplace, and Aziraphale is wandering around and might even occasionally be seen.

BOOKS
Books - Early Evening
Pippi remembered she didn't need to look for one, because she already knew that there was one across town from the Perk. The Muffin Man had called it dreadful, which she took to mean the very best thing since caramel candies, because that's the kind of fellow he was.
So she and Old Man clop clop clopped their way to the bookshop. And when they got there she hopped down with a sadly empty looking backpack on her shoulder. She reached out to see if the door was open.
Re: Books - Early Evening
"Do come in, my dear," he says, with a quick smile for the horse parked outside. "Is there something I can help you with?"
Re: Books - Early Evening
The girl looks up at him with big green eyes, he clothing is colorful except for her shoes, which are both black, well worn, and entirely to large, she sports a pair of mis-matched (wait for it) long stockings held up, apparently, by garters. Her hair needs no introduction.
"Thank you." she says entering the shop past him, "I need books. So naturally I came here."
Re: Books - Early Evening
He closes the door and follows her into the shop. The front area is filled with bookcases -- against the walls as well as lined up freestanding. There are a few glass-fronted cabinets as well. Most of the books have the appearance of being rather old. An open doorway leads into what looks like a sitting area, with several comfortable-looking chairs, a long couch, and a fireplace. Sitting on the couch is a dark-haired man typing at a laptop computer.
Re: Books - Early Evening
She shows Aziraphale her Cultivation and Gardening Syllabus (http://www.livejournal.com/users/jquayle/7528.html), "I'm looking for any or all of these." she says.
She lets Aziraphale look over the list and peers around the shop. "This place is delightful!" she says, "Very cozy, it kinda reminds me of Villa Villekulla."
Re: Books - Early Evening
The dark-haired man looks up with a smile for Pippi, waving a welcoming hand toward the platter of cookies, and then goes back to his work.

Re: Books - Early Evening
While he's doing that, a little furry creature with dark eyes scrambles out from underneath the couch and up the side of Pippi's chair. It perches on the arm and wiggles its nose at her.

Re: BOOKS - Late Afternoon (before Pippi)
Walking into town was when Yazoo realized that perhaps he should have taken his bike. Not that he was ready to fall over, but his side was pulling a bit and throbbing a tad from the pain. Manageable, and more of an irritation than anything, but there.
He was going to head to the pub and maybe work on the basement when he passed by Aziraphale's shop. Stopping to look in the window to see if the dark man was in and not finding him, he waffled about whether to go in or not.
Re: BOOKS - Late Afternoon (before Pippi)
"Do come in, Yazoo. You know you're always welcome here."
Re: BOOKS - Late Afternoon (before Pippi)
He stood in the shop and took a breath, letting it out slowly. If he admitted it, Yazoo would say he had missed being in the shop among the books.
Re: BOOKS - Late Afternoon (before Pippi)
"Are you looking for books, or just here for the cocoa?"

Re: BOOKS - Late Afternoon (before Pippi)
"Do grab a book if you'd like to read for a bit. And oh! I'd nearly forgotten. I'd like you to name (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a29/danaedark/redangeldiscusbase.png) one (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a29/danaedark/RAMcichlidbase.png) of (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a29/danaedark/orangeflashbase.png) my (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a29/danaedark/bluediscusbase.png) fish (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a29/danaedark/blackmollybase.png). There are still two without names -- the white and yellow one, and the orange-finned black one -- if you'd like to choose." He nods toward an aquarium that's been set up against the wall.

WILSON'S SPOT ON THE COUCH
Re: WILSON'S SPOT ON THE COUCH
Wilson’s alarm had gone off and though he had every intention in the world of getting up and being a productive member of something somewhere, he’d found himself a tad tired not to mention a bit achy
in all the OMGfantastic sexsorta ways. So he’d turned the annoying little buzz off and stuffed his head under the pillows for some more sleep.Later that morning, accepting that he had to get up and mobile, the young doctor had pulled himself together, amazing what a hot shower could do for achy muscles and wandered down to the shop. He was going to work on his paper and simply, be a bump on the couch for the day.
He’d made himself a comfortable little nest and was busy trying to work, really, when a certain furry head and twitchy nose made itself known. At first, Wilson had acknowledged the baby ferret’s presence with a grin but continued to work, however Pogo seemed to want to play. When Wilson showed a distressing lack of interest in playing, Pogo upped the stakes.
Which was how it came to pass that the quiet serenity of the shop was broken by a thud, a yelp, the chatter of a triumphant ferret, the skittering of little weasel feet and a shout from the young doctor.
“Pogo! You don’t eat gingersnap cookies! Give that back!”
There was a more skittering, the scamper of sock covered feet, a ferret like chitter of triumph, a masculine yelp and then a somewhat impressive >CRASH< with the subsequent thuds of books dropping down on a body.
Phale didn’t want to look…he honest to HIM didn’t want to look.
Re: WILSON'S SPOT ON THE COUCH
"James dear," he asks politely, "what are you doing?"

Wilson was upended like an unfortunate turtle -with really long jean clad legs- under a small bookcase, where he'd gone to make a hard turn only to have his sock covered feet slip and he'd slid into the base of the bookcase, tipping it over and emptying the top couple of shelves on himself.
"Well...ah...you see, I really felt an urge to quote something from ah..." grabbing a book he peered at the title. "The Good Wife's Guide to Animal Husbandry...and...oh for the love of, I was chasing that little gingersnap stealing thief and I slipped."
Pogo, at that point, sort of hiccupped...or perhaps he burped.
Re: WILSON'S SPOT ON THE COUCH
"So...you went careening through my shop because Pogo stole a cookie?"
His amused, slightly scolding tone is belied however by the fact that he checks the young doctor over carefully, to be certain he's not injured.
Pogo pokes his head out of the pocket where he's now hiding and twitches his nose at Wilson.
Re: WILSON'S SPOT ON THE COUCH
"I was eating it at the time. As in had it in my teeth and was about to go crunch when all of a sudden a second set of jaws was on the other side and then...poof...no cookie."
Looking back at the mess, Wilson gave Phale a rueful little glance as he turned to start carefully picking up the books.
Re: WILSON'S SPOT ON THE COUCH
Helping Wilson stack the books back onto the shelves he says, "I'm terribly sorry, James. I'll keep a closer eye on him, and keep him from bothering you. Please, do go back to your work. I'll take care of this."
Re: WILSON'S SPOT ON THE COUCH
"It's all right...it was just the audacity but I think what he wanted more than the cookie was simply to play."
