The Park, Thursday Afternoon/Evening

Miho is bored. She hasn't killed anything in weeks, not since that contractor. Dwight sent her some research he'd done, showing that killing things in Fandom for fun or profit probably wouldn't be in her best interests, and suggesting she find other outlets for her...energies.

So she's rollerskating in the park again.

((Open for your park usage, or if you want to interact with Miho. If you're lucky, she'll talk. If you're really lucky, she'll even speak English. :>))

Tex ended up closing the shop early. Business had been bad today, not that she could blame people if they had to deal with a raving O'Malley. Needing some fresh air, she went for a walk through fandom. As she entered the park, she picked up the sound of the rollerblades. Not with disinterest, she watched the woman skate.

Tex nodded back. Then she got distracted by the crater. She wondered why it was shaped like a man, then she scowled at a passing duck.

Walter is not rollerskating. Walter has never rollerskated. He is in the park looking for that evil duck with teeth he saw the last time he was here, though.

He watches the girl skating by and waves.

Walter isn't sure there are rollerskates that could withstand his idea of quick.

He does, however, watch appreciatively as she skates because it looks like fun. "Excuse me. Where do you get skates like those?"

Walter's nerves are singularly un-unnervable. Instead, he smiles and nods. "Thanks. Sounds like a bit of a bother. I guess I'll get Togusa to try the internet for me."

"I just used one for the first time a little over a week ago. I think they work best as paperless typewriters." He sticks out his hand, "I'm Walter Dornez."

Compared to what he knew at home, Miho isn't really all that troubling.

After receiving a gift that really tapped into his inner sense of mischief, Peter walked to the park with a loaded water gun (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhighdorms/388162.html?#cutid1). He figured he would just check out the distance it could fire by firing into the duck pond. That way nobody would get wet.

Either the duck pond was smaller than he thought, or the water gun was more powerful than he thought. Possibly both. "Look out!" he yelled to the roller skating woman.

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2006-01-12 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter hurried around the pond to check up on Miho. "Sorry about that. I didn't mean..." Peter trailed off slighty as he felt a tingle in his head. Then he saw the sword. "It was an accident."

"Great." If that buzzing in his head was any indication, this was no time to worry about using his powers. He lept up into the nearest tree and turned back briefly. "It really was an accident!"

"It's a water gun. It just fires water. Harmless." Peter turned it on himself and fired.

Okay, shooting himself in the face with a highly-pressurized stream of water wasn't his best idea ever. But at least he apparently wasn't going to be stabbed. His face all wet, he explained, "It just shoots farther than I thought it would."

Victor and Walter arrived at the park, no worse for wear. "Okay, where do you want to start?" Victor asked.

"I was here earlier looking for the duck with teeth. Let's head that way." Walter looked around. "I know it's dark, but a duck with teeth probably doesn't care."

"A duck with teeth?" Victor snorted. "Then again, around here, it wouldn't surprise me. "First of all, let's see how you do on your own. Just pretend you're on ice, and if you need to brake, drag one of your toes against the ground."

"Right." Walter skated slowly away from Victor and stopped before making a slow turn and skating back to him with much more assurance. "It's really not hard."

After the words were out of his mouth, he kicked himself. If he'd played up the difficulty, Victor would have probably offered to help him.

"Good," Victor replied, glad that Walter was getting the hang of it. He skated up to the other boy and grabbed his left hand with his right. "Now, don't get any funny ideas," he warned with a smirk. "I haven't had any root beer tonight. Just skate with me until you feel comfortable enough, then just let go, okay?" he asked, not caring if Walter actually did get some funny ideas.

"Yes, but I have. What if it's not just you? Maybe there's some island-wide spell on all the root beer." Walter laughed and pulled Victor along with him, heading toward the lake.

"Oh, please don't tell me that this wonderful night is all because of magic soda," he half-joked. "Actually, Doctor Wilson is going to check my blood this weekend. There's a chance that I might be allergic to the soda here."
