Bored and hungry in Fandom Town...

Darla wandered restlessly around Fandom Town, finally settling in the park to glare at the moonlight on the duck pond. She was impatient and bored and frustrated. All in all, not in a good mood.

Victor walked merrily through the park, bags in hand. He had just gone to NPC Records to pick up some gifts for Walter, and decided to take the scenic route home. With a smile, he remembered how much fun he had had rollerblading with the other boy, and absently wondered if he'd find the duck Walter had been looking for.

Darla looked up when a shadowy figure crossed her path. It looked like another student from the school. Oh, how nice. Rising, she angled her path to intercept his.

Once close, she could see in the moon and street light that he was one of the more interesting of Fandom Town's inhabitants. "Well, well," she said, amused, once she was in earshot. "There really are little green men, aren't there?"

Victor jumped a little. "Oh, sorry," he said, putting his hand to his heart. "I didn't see you there."

He really hadn't. In fact, it seemed like the woman had just appeared out of nowhere.

"Yeah, I'm lean, green, and horny, like the poster says," he added, pointing to his head spikes. "Are you a freshman?"

Darla laughed. To anyone listening, it wouldn't have sounded creepy unless you knew her. "Oh, no. I'm a little too old to be a freshman. Or woman. But aren't you a sweet thing. Are you new to the school, then?"

"Um...yeah," Victor laughed too, but a little nervously. The woman's laugh had rubbed him the wrong way, and he didn't know why. "Do you live in town, then?"

"Well, live might not quite be the right word." Oh, the poor little boy was edgy already. Perfect. If she did this right, he'd run whimpering back to school. "But yes, I stay in town. So. What's the most unusual thing you've seen here?"

Besides pretty girls popping out of nowhere and questioning me? "I think it was DEATH and his condom coffee maker, though I've heard about a piranah duck running around here somewhere. Can you imagine that, a duck with fangs?"

Briefly, Darla was distracted. "A condom... coffee maker?" She blinked and laughed, a far more natural laugh that time. "Oh, well, and I was going to see if I could top that. Although the duck with fangs is around here somewhere..."

"Really? Where?" he asked, looking around. "My bo-...I mean, friend was looking for it."

"Oh, he comes out when he wants to. A friend of mine, Crowley, feeds him occasionally." Darla moves closer to the duck pond and points. "Sometimes you can see him out there."

Victor looked out onto the pond. After a few moments, he shrugged. "All I see are ducks," he said, turning back to the strange woman.

Who had, when his back was turned, turned into a monster. Her eyes glowed yellow in the night and her face was distorted into a mask of horror. "Well, then. Have you seen anything like this in your time here? I wonder if your blood tastes any different than a normal human."

Victor screamed in horror. Instead of a beautiful woman, he was now faced with a monster, even by his standards.

Darla advanced on him, crowding his personal space. "Do you know what I'd like to do? Breaking your neck would be too fast. I think I'd just drink until you were too weak to do anything, then wait while you begged for freedom, and then drink again. Endless cycle... when you'd always hope that you'd live and always know that you'd die." Darla smiled. The fangs did not improve things. "It's so entertaining, when people beg."

Victor couldn't stop the tears, nor the wimpering. He backed away, helplessly trying to escape.

Darla advanced on him slowly, gracefully. "I told the demon at Caritas I needed more greens. You'll do nicely, I'm sure. What? Will anyone miss you?"

With a final scream, Victor turned around and ran as fast as he could back to the dorms, tears falling behind him.

Darla laughed and laughed as he ran away. Ah, fear tasted so sweet, even if she didn't drink it with blood.
