Ted was sitting out on the front lawn again in his deck chair. He was rugged up in several layers of clothing and a scarf and boonie hat and gloves. The sign for available rooms was still up.

Josh was fully tired of living in his office.

So when he saw the sign, he ignored the looks of the guy on the lawn and put on a smile.

"I'll take it," he said.

Ted looked from the guy to the copy of Giraffes? Giraffes! that he had in his hand. "Uh, this is my copy dude. But I hear you can buy it at the book store."

"What?" Josh blinked. "No. The room. I'll take the room. Please, please don't make me sleep in my office another night."

"Oh!" Ted took a few moments to push himself out of the deck chair. It was hard to move around with all of the clothes he had on. "Sure dude! There's still a room free." He offered a hand. "I'm Ted 'Theodore' Logan. Are you new to town?"

"I got here at the beginning of the semester," Josh said, running a hand through his hair. "And, um, things kept coming up and I kept getting distracted from finding a place to live. Josh Lyman. I teach over at the high school."

Josh bit back an "of course you are." Hell, this was probably a Democratic voter. "Excellent," he said, smiling. "I teach government and politics."

Rita, having seen the sign earlier in the day and remembering how she had spent the night on the sofa here, appeared looking aggravated, a trunk trailing behind her.

"Hello, there. Rooms still open?"

"Uhhh.. sorry babe, I just gave away the last one."

Rita scowled. "Damn. You don't have any little cubbyholes that a quiet, unobtrusive witch such as myself could inhabit?" she asked, quirking a brow.

"Oh, well, there's a pretty big attic that you could live in. It's got furniture and stuff. You can have that if you want, babe."

"Perfect!" Rita said with a quick smile. "An attic would be ideal." She offered her hand. "Rita Skeeter, by the way. It's a pleasure."

"I'm Ted 'Theodore' Logan. There's another dude who just got the last room. He's just gone inside now. Come in and I'll give you the grand tour."

Once inside, Ted put his gear aside and pulled off the extra layers he'd been wearing. Underneath he had a Van Halen band t-shirt and rolled up jeans. "Okay dudes, welcome to the house. I own it, so, like, if you break anything, it's totally okay because I can just get it fixed. Um, Frizzy Politics Dude, your room is there. The room next to you is Smart Glasses Dude's room. Everyone here teaches at the school if you do Perky Blonde English Babe. That room," he pointed to the room to the left, just before the kitchen. "Is Tunic Chin Dude's room. Mine's at the back. Any questions so far, my most excellent new roomies?"

"That's a great t-shirt," Josh said, grinning as he looked around. He wondered if he'd ever learn his roommates' names, or he'd just have to greet them as "Smart Glasses Dude" and "Tunic Chin Dude."

He turned to "Perky Blonde English Babe" and smiled. "I'm Josh," he said.

At that moment Autolycus strolled by on his way to the shower. Wearing nothing but a towel.

"Hello! I remember you from the bar!" Rita said, staring. "You liked my bubbles. And you had clothes."

Josh pointed at Autolycus, too. "I remember you from the bar, too." He looked at Rita. "I apparently need to spend less time at the bar."

He scrunched up his forehead. "Um. Tunic Chin Dude. Um. Automobile? Something like that, right?"
