Heading into Town [Friday Morning]

Fandom is a long way from Chicago.

Constable Benton Fraser, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, hadn't expected to hear anything back about the possibility of acquiring another job. It'd been an option he hadn't prepared for, an option he hadn't even hoped for. Of course, it turned out to be the option that was chosen.

It hadn't taken long to pack his belongings. Actually, it had taken longer to convince Dief to remove himself from the apartment. He'd become acclimated to the apartment during their time in Chicago and seemed reluctant to leave. Good thing Fraser carried a pack of potato chips. Good thing Dief was a junk food loving wolf.

So, here he was, Fandom High's new secruity liaison. The town is free of snow, the island is separated from the mainland and Dief is standing at his side.

"Well, what do you think?"

Dief whines in response, hiding his head under a paw.

"Right." Fraser nods and starts walking into town. "We'll get used to it."

[OOC: And here's the arrival post! If you're in town, feel free to interact with Fraser. He'll be going into the school later in the day to meet the Dean's, Principal, teachers, students etc.]

Jake was headed towards the Perkolator for his morning cup of coffee, when he spotted New Person with a Dog. He paused and tilted his head curiously. "Hello?"

"Good morning, young man." Fraser smiles and nods politely. "How are you today?"

"Coffee deprived," Jake replied. "Um. Are you new? Are you lost?" He thought he might take the time to point new guy in the right direction before going for coffee. Probably.

"Lost? Not quite," Fraser answers. "I've just arrived in town actually. I'm taking a few moments to become accustomed to my surroundings. It's very different from Chicago." He nods and smiles again. "I'm Benton Fraser, Royal Canadia Mounted Police."

It's probably best not to ask where a chick in armour, carrying an assault rifle is coming from. She is however heading back to her appartment when she notices the new freak in town with his dog. And because she's still in a good mood, she takes a moment to halt and mock.

"Nice hat."

"Oh, why thank you." She's wearing full metal, nothing showing. And he'd thought Ray had dressed oddly. "I appreciate the kind compliment."

Tex stared.

"You haven't heard of sarcasm, have you?"

Fraser laughs. "Of course I have. Sarcasm is an ironic or cutting remark often used for ridicule." He smiles again. "I prefer compliments myself."

Morning

Aziraphale decides to step out of the shop while things are quiet and take a brief walk through the neighborhood. He's been neglecting that lately and has started to feel that maybe he isn't completely aware of everything that's been going on in town.

And it's a good thing he did step out, because he sees a newcomer to town, which is something he'd have missed if he'd stayed inside. It's really a beautiful thing the way the Plan works out, isn't it?

"Good morning," he calls cheerily to the stranger. "Good morning," he adds, addressing the wolf.

"Quite well, thank you." He gives the man a warm smile. "I'm going to guess that you're new to town, so just let me say Welcome to Fandom. I'm Aziraphale -- I run the bookshop."

Aziraphale waves his hand in the general direction of the park.

"Aziraphale," Fraser repeats and nods. "It's very nice to meet you. I'm Benton Fraser, Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I've just been hired as the new security liaison for Fandom High."

In the ball is a squid.

"A squid in a clear plastic ball?" Fraser quirks an eyebrow. "Very odd."
