The Park, on a rather nice January night.

Conversation with Belthazor
"Sorry, to sort of horn in on you like this but...I don't like the idea of disagreeing with him on his territory. It's a matter of respect if you will." Wilson explained softly as they walked along.

Sighing softly, Wilson reached back with his hand and rubbed at the back of his neck.
"It's...complicated, Bel. I do think it was the right decision but no matter the right or wrong...the good or bad of the results of the decision itself...it wasn't his and in making it for him, I'm not sure if people with the best of intentions perhaps didn't take on more then was their right."

"I...perhaps it was not the most thoroughly thought out plan but emotions were running high on all sides. Looking back, there doesn't appear to have been much room for rationalization."
Exhaling a long breath, Wilson looked over at Bel.
"But regardless of how it was done the point right now is, it's done. And you are in a bit of a hard spot because you made a promise to your friend that in effect involves you doing to Angel what was done to Angelus."
A few more steps and Wilson eyed a particularly pushy duck who had waddled out from the direction of the pond looking for a treat. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out the scones and began to break one up.
"Do you believe what Aziraphale said? That there is The Plan...and that we're all caught upon a Celestial chess board?"

"No...wait...you're the one who went down and yelled at your bosses for the attack on Phoebe. I don't think you're quite the good little solider they might like to think you are." Wilson answered his own question.

"Sounds exactly like the Catholic Church." He commented thoughtfully. "Actually...sounds exactly like most of the organized religeons I know."
Going ahead and tossing the scones out to where they could be found, Wilson pushed his hands into the pockets of his jeans and turned to look at Bel...in Angel's body.
"The idea of any one absolute is a pipe dream, Bel. Instead of looking at things as Good and Evil...it's almost worth it to look at the balance being between Chaos and Logic. But I understand you're not in a position to be running around questioning the orders that come down from on high. Not yet."
Not if Bel was still as young as Wilson was figuring he was.
"Right now you're playing Angelus as a chess piece. Trying to push the pawns around so that you can get him back on the board but Bel do you really understand the game being played on the board?"
Smiling gently, Wilson looked around at the park.
"I'm a mortal. Not a witch, not a demon, not an angel or a vampire or...anything really. Cannon fodder to be honest. I'm not meant to know what the board looks like or how it's going to be played but if you're going to make yourself a viable player, not only to protect yourself but to protect Phoebe...you need to be able to see the whole board and maybe you need to be patient for a little while until you know just why you want to put Angelus back into play."
Sighing softly, unsure if anything he was saying made sense, Wilson turned to watch a duck for a moment, then looked back at Bel.
"In the meantime, it's all right to miss your friend, just don't let your grief rule your head."

"I'm not saying you should go back on your word. Just ... maybe it's time to start being just a little smarter about it?"

"No. I've spent over 7 years around House, Bel. If I was going to call you stupid, fairly certain I'd use just those words."
Setting his hands on his hips, he looked at the young man.
"I'm suggesting that you take a deep breath and a longer look at the whole picture, rather than let your frustration guide your actions. It's okay to keep your word, Bel and ... while I might not agree with you, I admire your loyalty to your promise. Just start thinking for yourself."

"Have you...um...fed the vampire body yet?"

Reaching out he touched Bel's/Angel's elbow gently, turning in the direction of the NPC slaughterhouse.
