Outside Spike's Saturday Evening

[Set up for Lana and Shep, but anyone walking around may run into them.]


Shep comes sprinting out of the bar, stopping to catch his breath and see which way Lana went. She's across the street, bent over, either sobbing or barfing.

He approaches slowly and sits on the arm rest of the nearby bench. "So..." he says quietly, not sure how she'll react to his presence. "Not such a good day, huh?" He's bad at this and he knows it, but he wants to cut the tension somehow.

Lana's breath catches in a sound that's half laugh, half sob. "No, not a good day at all." She can't even look at him.

He reaches over and rubs gentle circles on her back. Not invading her space, but he just can't leave her hanging out there like that.

Quietly he tries to explain. "I was just talking to her, Lana. Seriously. That was all. Even if she'd asked - which she hadn't - I wouldn't have gone home with her or anything."

"I know," she manages. "I know you would never do that to me. I just... I don't know what happened. This is so completely not like me." She gives up and sits down on the grass, burying her face in her hands.

"I don't even know who she is. She said she's not a student here. Must be someone's neice or something. Hell, she told you her name before she even told me!" Shep's carefully pulling her around to try and see if she'll let him hug her yet.

Lana let him turn her around and buried her face in his chest. "I'm so sorry," she whispered brokenly. "I don't even want to know what you must think of me."

Shep hugged her close, rubbing her back through her jacket.

"I think I need to brush up on my holds... you shouldn't have been able to get past me like that. Nice move."

"Thanks," she said sniffling. "Wish I hadn't been able to though. And besides, Walter told me I shouldn't work so much on that. I'm supposed to try and restrain whoever grabs me."

Suddenly, as if out of nowhere...you know the drill by now. Water balloon, Lana, splashity.

Tonight is not the night for this kind of crap. Shep steps away from Lana and looks around for the aqua-terrorist. "Hey, knock it the hell off! You want to start something, come here and start something with me!"

Well, she could, but Dwight said no killing people. So she throws another water balloon at him and stays well-hidden.

hep's kind of glad for the change in conversational direction. "Buh? Because that's such a good plan. I grab you, so you grab me? Actually, you know, in bed that might be fun." He shakes his head and gets it back on track. "But not in a fight!"

She looks up at him, grateful that he doesn't seem really angry at her. "You still want to talk about going to bed with me? I'd think you'd just want the psycho girl to disappear."

And gets hit by a water balloon. "Wha-??"

"Well, we can talk about it... but I'm not so sure tonight's the kind of night we want to do anything about it."

The little coward with the water balloons seems to be gone.

"And now you're all wet. Here," He takes off his jacket and puts it around her. "Let's get you home."

She waves a hand at him. "I didn't mean tonight, I just meant in general. Tonight, no, tonight's the night for running away and hiding somewhere."

She huddles into his jacket. "Preferably somewhere dry. Or with a deep hole. Either one is fine."

She wraps an arm around his waist, "Yes,please take me home before I do anything else really stupid."

"I think we've collectively used up our quotient of stupid for the day." He kisses the top of her head and puts his arm around her shoulders and leads her down the road towards the dorm.

Lana sighed. "I think we have at that. Stay with me tonight? Just to hold me?"

"Only if you put on dry clothes first." He smiles at her and pulls her in to kiss her head again.

"It's a deal." She snuggles in closer to him and let's him take her home.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a water balloon flew straight at John's back.

Hearing something from behind him, Shep jumps to the side, taking Lana with him. The balloon hits the bench, missing them both. He sees someone skulking around in the bushes.

So help that ... individual when he caught her alone. Right now Lana had his attention, but this moron was gonna get an earful about this when he had a minute.

Miho stepped out of the shadows, the expression on her face something like murderous. She did not miss. There should have been nothing to alert the boy.

Perhaps he would even be a challenge for a few moments.

[[ooc: Miho is from Sin City. She is a deadly ninja prostitute who uses throwing swastikas instead of throwing stars (because swastikas are symbols of good luck in china... and they look badazz.) She doesn't talk and she kills people in really really interesting ways.

If it were me, I'd just say that Shep could have heard the water sloshing around in the balloon as it flew through the air and get with the fighting.

I want to see Shep and Miho fight. Let's get it on! :)
