Mauvaise Chance Apartments, Sunday Morning

The Quark's Treasure II lands on the roof of the apartment complex.

It was only minutes later until the deed was signed over, and the previous owner ran off into the sunset with somewhere in the neighborhood of five hundred thousand dollars worth of gold and jewels.

"Humans," Quark chuckles to himself as he props his feet up on the counter of the apartment complex. "Worthless rocks and gold, and they sign over a prime piece of property."

He knows he has a lot to do. Introduce himself, set up the holo-suite, hire personnel, etcetera. It was going to be a long day.

So first, he set up a sign in the front lobby window.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
Looking to Hire the Following:
One Apartment Superintendant
Three Mechanics (High Technology Knowledge Required)
See The Proprietor For An Application

Then, he sat down in his lobby chair. He would need to familiarize himself with the town eventually, but that could wait.

Jenny noticed the 'Under New Management' sign in the window and frowned at it. The previous building management had been hands-off. Just the way she liked it. She stopped by the office to check and see if they'd actually sent someone to man it for once.

Some weird guy with funky ears was hanging out behind the desk and looking grouchy. He vaguely reminded her of someone, but she couldn't quite place it.

"Just checking out the office," said Jenny. She grinned at him. "It's been empty since I moved in here, so I was wondering if the new building management was actually gonna be around."

"Ooh, the owner himself," said Jenny. She adjusted her laptop case on her shoulder and walked forward, then held her hand out. "Jenny Calendar. I room with Adam Pierson upstairs. Nice to meet you, Quark." Sunnydale had its uses. After the initial moment of 'not-so-human, thanks,' Jenny'd stopped noticing any oddities in Quark's appearance.

Though he still did remind her of someone. Weird.

"The introductions and the actually being here? Good start," said Jenny, grinning. "I was kinda starting to think the old landlords were horrors from beyond the edge of the universe, they were that tough to get ahold of. So you move into town, or did you just come in to check the place you bought out?"

"You work fast," said Jenny, tilting her head and blinking at the pointy teeth. Thank God that vampires just didn't have ears like that. Maybe he was from a demon species that whittled with their teeth? Like a badger, or some other non-people-eating species. Non-people-eating? Always nice. "Which I'm thinking? All of the good."

Jenny grinned. "So no calling you up because I'm lonely and I miss my mommy?"

"Adam? Just a roomie. Spends most of his time over--" She stopped and frowned. "Actually, I'm not so sure where his boyfriend lives. But he spends a lot of time there. And thanks. Maybe I'll stop by sometime." She paused. "You meet a guy in town named Lorne yet? You kinda remind me of him."

"Oh, the attitude," said Jenny. "Because I don't think I've ever seen ears quite like yours." She gave a little wave and stepped back towards the door. "Nice to meet you, Quark. And now? Gotta go in and catch up on some work before I get some sleep."
