The Park, Noonish

An extremely dignified man takes a seat on a bench. He looks as though you would expect to see him in some sort of formalware, but he's not on duty right now, so he suffices with a sweater. He is, of course, wearing a tie under his sweater.

One must adhere to certain conventions, even when in casual wear.

He pulls out a map and traces his finger along it, looking for the Mayor's Office.

[[OOC: SAY HELLO TO ALFRED EVERYONE!]]

While he seems to like it quite a lot, Pippi thinks Old Man needs to get out of his dorm room and exercise more.

As such, they're taking a leisurely ride through the park.

Like ya do.

"Good afternoon sir. I would certainly love to help you if I can. What'cha looking for?"

She turns the right way around on the horse and guides him closer to the nice men.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh Mayor Red! Yes, he's nice. Well he's not often in his office I think on weekends, but he could be in his shop I can show you where that is."

She offers her hand.

"Would you like a ride?"

Pippi looked over her shoulder at Alfred.

"Pippi," she said, "Pippi Longstocking. Charmed, by my honor." she said as she had heard fine gentlemen say to fine ladies once.

Old Man set off at a leisurely pace in the direction of Red's shop.

"So what brings you to Fandom Mr. Pennyworth?"

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"You're master? Was he your teacher?" Pippi had once heard that one was never to old to learn, but she thought the gentleman was taking it a bit far.

It was a nice day (For Fandom in winter). While it was rather cold, the sun was out as Old Man meandered his way through the park.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Complicated?" she asks, looking over her shoulder. "Welcome to Fandom. We've got complicated for days."

Alfred seemed to be doing okay on the horse, so she gave Old Man a nudge and he advanced to a more jaunty pace.

"Oh a butler! I have a friend at school who's a butler. He's a very snappy dresser. How did you come to be a butler?"

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't know where or if he had an apprenticeship of any sort..." She takes on a British Accent any Londoner would recognise. "He says he's from England. I'd say he rather talks like you."

She goes back to speaking normally.

"My Papa is the Captain of a Ship and a Cannibal King, and he taught me everything I know about that... Well, most everything." She gives him a wink. "I don't think one needs lessons about how to be a Cannibal Princess, though I'd rather eat caramel candies then people."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"His name's Walter." Pippi said, completely oblivious to the narrowing eyes. "You'll know him when you see him, he's always wearing a suit."

She's not doing much witht he reigns Old Man seems to know where he's going, Pippi continues chatting with the nice friendly man who isn't scary at all.

"Oh, I'm from all over, born to the sea as it were. We traveled the world until... Well, for a good chunk of my life. But my family is from Vimmerby, Sweden. I lived there for a while in Villa Villekulla before coming here."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"You should. I bet he'd be thrilled to have such a knowledgeable fellow as yourself with which to discuss butteling!

In responce to his question, Pippi says, "By boat of course!" she says, never dreaming that Alfred is anything other then a sweet perfect gentleman who is never scary or harsh.

"My friend Annika helped me find this school. The one back home... Wasn't working out unfortunately. She seemed to think Fandom was just the kind of school for me. I just started here this semester. I think I'm going to be okay here. I even rather like my classes."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Beginner's Math, Gardening, Greature Languages, and Intro To Archeology." she answered as Old Man exited the park and made his way down the road.

"I didn't think I was going to be any good at Math, but our teacher is the best! He's very good at explaining things. Even though his mun hates me for asking questions about chaos theory as applied to the movements of 250,000 supperballs bouncing down a stairwell."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's just what Walter said! A 'well rounded education' he called it... Oh here... we... are..."

Old Man pulled up to an empty lot where Red's shop used to be.

"... Well, that's curious."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's to bad, Mayor Red was so nice."

She shrugged.

"Of course Mr. Pennyworth. No problem. Come on Old Man, back to the pond."

Old Man wheeled around and headed back to the Park.

"So where did you recieve your well rounded education Mr. Pennyworth? Or were you homeschooled? I was homeschooled for a number of years by my Papa's First Mate Fredolf... Well, more like shipschooled. Poor Fredolf, I was quite a handful back then."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"It might be fun to see you try big boy." *wink*

"Oh. One of those huh? Yeah, you'll get on with Walter swimmingly I think." she grinned and then crinkled her nose, "What's the good of traveling the world if you can't tell any good stories about it?"

She looked up at the sky, the clouds were rolling in.

"It looks like it may rain Mr. Pennyworth. Are you sure you'll be okay in the park? Do you have an umbrella?"

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Pippi claps her hands.

"Wonderful! I can't wait." Pippi was more partial to coffee then tea, but Alfred sounded English, and Pippi knew better then to refuse a proper pot of tea from a proper Englishman such as Alfred.

"Who are you meeting? If you don't mind my asking? And by 'don't mind', I mean 'don't have to kill me for'." she asked with a smirk.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"Weeeeell, there's a lot to learn Mr. Pennyworth. A whole lot to learn."

Old Man was nearing the pond again.

"A lot of people usually end up at Caritas in the evening I think. Unless it's an off night, you should meet quite a lot of people from the School and around town."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-01-23 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh yes. Jeff, God of Biscuts is a kind and benevolent God! There's actually supposed to be a gathering of students there tonight I think. Here let me mark it on your map for you."

Pippi marks the spot on Alfred's map.

[[ooc: OMG! I Godmodded yer map! Ha ha!

If anyone were looking up, they would see a largish black gargoyle bird swoop rather low and a figure leapt off its back, holding his top hat in place with one hand and clutching a cane with the other. He landed on his feet - he was, after all, a cat - and looked around. How fortuitous that the first person he met in Fandom was a proper English gentleman. The Baron could smell formalwear.

"Ah, good day!" he calls in greeting from his whole height of a foot and a half.

[identity profile] gikkingen.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
The Baron would never presume to insult Alfred. "I am. Only newly arrived," he gestured vaguely upwards with his cane. "As you may have seen. My shop is arriving shortly."

[identity profile] gikkingen.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"My name is Baron Humbert von Gikkingen," the Baron supplied his own name. "But most simply call me Baron. A pleasure, Mr. Pennyworth. And I will be opening the Cat Business Office. A place for any creature in need."

[identity profile] gikkingen.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"I heard through some of my clients - the Kingdom of Cats has a very wide intelligence network - that Fandom was attracting a number of animals who might need the help of my office," the Baron replied. "And Fandom seemed to be one of the few places my office would be welcome. I was intrigued. And you? Are you a long-time resident?"

[identity profile] gikkingen.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"I wish you luck, Alfred, and I'll be sure to dine there whenever I can," the Baron replied. "I had hoped to find some measure of an introduction to the peculiarities of Fandom, for my contacts tell me there are many. Have you learned anything yourself?"

[[The British is killing me. Killing me dead. And giving me bad teeth.]]

[identity profile] gikkingen.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
As the first few raindrops began to fall, the Baron shuddered. "An excellent idea, but I feel the need for shelter and a hot cup of tea at the moment." He adjusted his top hat and bowed slightly. "Please come by the office any time for a cuppa. It would be a pleasure."

[identity profile] gikkingen.livejournal.com 2006-01-22 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm afraid they don't," the Baron replied with a smile. "I blend my own, always changing the recipe, so I'm never sure of the taste. Every cup is a bit different." He twirled his cane. "I'll be off. Farewell for now. I'm sure we'll see each other again."
