Thursday morning, at Sparky Repairs
Agatha looked at her handiwork. The dingbots certainly helped, and now they had a lovely sign to hang over the door of the shop. Everything was tidy and ready for business. There was only one thing left to do. Make fliers and advertise.
Agatha set a little "open" sign on the door, and started making up the fliers while she waited for anyone so inclined to come by.
[[ooc: come by, say hi, meet the girl, meet the dingbots.]]

He did an abrupt about face and walked into the shop to look around and particularly to see what the little scuttling thing had been.

Agatha meanwhile looked at the yong man who entered her shop.
"Hello."

This was more like it. None of those boring electronics that make machines do things almost like magic. This was how one's widgets should look.
"I don't think I've seen your shop before. Are you new in town?"
no subject
"Yes." Agatha replied politely. "I arrived the day before yesterday, and have just been able to open the shop today." She poked a dingbot in what could possibly be it's belly if it had one. It stopped what it was doing and looked at her expectantly. "I see you like the little guys here." She rotated the bot to face Walter.

He tore his attention away from the little thing and smiling, held out a hand to the proprietress. "I am Walter Dornez."

Agatha extended her hand, and shook his hand in a highly ladylike way. "A pleasure to meet you Walter Dornez. I am Agatha

"What is it you do here? Are these your creations?" He waved a hand to take in the store, and the little robot things in particular.

"You will fix anything, or only mechanicals of this sort? I live up at the school, so I ask for the sake of my fellow students as well."
no subject
She set the little guy down and pointed back at the flier which he started working on again.
"I can fix anything mechanical. I do not have a large amount of experience with things involving the harnessed lightning. I will also build anything mechanical on demand." She thought if there was anything else she ought to mention. "Oh, i am also not very handy with repairing living beings. I can do it, and i have made small organic constructs, but... it never ended well."
no subject
"There are some competent doctors in town and at the school, so you likely will not have much cause to worry about repairing living beings, but it is good to keep in mind. Odd things do happen here."
He frowned and looked around. Really, what she had was fascinating. Maybe Victor would like something as a gift.
"Can you make one of those," he pointed to a mechanical, "that functions as an alarm clock but does not make the infernal racket that my... friend's does?" Watching the little windup things in action, that seemed doable. "Perhaps one that taps him on the forehead instead?"
He would pay good money to see Victor woken in that manner.
no subject
"Or course i can. Would you want it to recognize your friend and locate him for the forehead tapping, or do you want it to be stationary and assume his forehead will always be in the correct place?" If the former, she would have to put some photo-paper inside.
[[ooc: i am totally handwaving the technology here :)]]

"A Photograph would be quite useful, yes. It can then imprint on it, and compare anyone it sees with the image." She thought for several seconds, moving her fingers as if calculating something. "I should be able to have one done by tomorrow, and if you bring that image when you come to pick it up i can leave the last step until then."
[[ooc: such a dork i am, i went and looked up when photography was invented, to make sure it was plausible for the semi-victorian girl to have some clue, whee. I am also totally going to handwave price, cause um, i have no idea.]]

[ooc: hee. first existing photo is 1826. they used lenses to project images for enlargement in the 15th century, but no one invented the chemical process i guess. btw, how old does walter look?]

"I am certain that Victor will tell people about the gift his friend gave him. If you could, please engrave, To V, for early mornings after late nights. -W on it someplace inconspicuous. I would appreciate it."
no subject
[ooc: oh i know that. but he didn't mention boyfriend, and Agatha doesn't know that. but i was just checking to know if she would or would not be surprised about him living at the school based on how old he looked.]
no subject
"I will return tomorrow with the photograph. Now, if you will excuse me, my tutor frowns on tardiness."

[ooc: i am totally a new person. still attempting to develop clue :)]
