Thursday morning, at Sparky Repairs

Agatha looked at her handiwork. The dingbots certainly helped, and now they had a lovely sign to hang over the door of the shop. Everything was tidy and ready for business. There was only one thing left to do. Make fliers and advertise.
Agatha set a little "open" sign on the door, and started making up the fliers while she waited for anyone so inclined to come by.

[[ooc: come by, say hi, meet the girl, meet the dingbots.]]

Walter left early to get to Alfred's because he was curious about the clonetroopers he'd heard about. He passed the new shop and would have kept going if a little scuttling thing had not caught his attention.

He did an abrupt about face and walked into the shop to look around and particularly to see what the little scuttling thing had been.

"Hello." Walter wandered a bit farther into the shop, watching the little things in obvious fascination.

This was more like it. None of those boring electronics that make machines do things almost like magic. This was how one's widgets should look.

"I don't think I've seen your shop before. Are you new in town?"

Bending to look the little thing over, he said, "I have only been here a few weeks, so I hardly qualify as the welcoming committee, but welcome to Fandom."

He tore his attention away from the little thing and smiling, held out a hand to the proprietress. "I am Walter Dornez."

"The pleasure is mine, Miss Clay," said Walter, his handshake equally gentlemanly.

"What is it you do here? Are these your creations?" He waved a hand to take in the store, and the little robot things in particular.

"Your Spark? Is that like your talent or skill?" He watched the little robot thing, fascinated by the visible workings of it.

"You will fix anything, or only mechanicals of this sort? I live up at the school, so I ask for the sake of my fellow students as well."

The first thought to come to mind with that was Mary Shelley, but that didn't seem like a tactful comparison to draw.

"There are some competent doctors in town and at the school, so you likely will not have much cause to worry about repairing living beings, but it is good to keep in mind. Odd things do happen here."

He frowned and looked around. Really, what she had was fascinating. Maybe Victor would like something as a gift.

"Can you make one of those," he pointed to a mechanical, "that functions as an alarm clock but does not make the infernal racket that my... friend's does?" Watching the little windup things in action, that seemed doable. "Perhaps one that taps him on the forehead instead?"

He would pay good money to see Victor woken in that manner.

"It would be better if it recognizes him. He is quite distinctive. One of two green people on the island. I can bring you a photograph if you need more description than just 'green.'"

"Tomorrow? That is brilliant! I did not expect something so quickly. If there is anything I can do in return for such fast service - in addition to paying, of course - do let me know. I will be working at Cafe Fina once it opens, perhaps dinner?"

"The restaurant's grand opening is tomorrow. It is on the corner of Chimera Court and Apocalypse Avenue. My tutor is the owner. I will come by after class with the photo, thank you.

"I am certain that Victor will tell people about the gift his friend gave him. If you could, please engrave, To V, for early mornings after late nights. -W on it someplace inconspicuous. I would appreciate it."

"It is perfect. Thank you, Miss Clay. He will be very surprised." Hopefully pleasantly so.

"I will return tomorrow with the photograph. Now, if you will excuse me, my tutor frowns on tardiness."
