Chaucer's is Open (after 4pm)

Paige hadn't been in the shop for quite some time it was odd, being here alone, well she assumed she was alone she didn't hear Geoff, she flipped the sign to open and went over to the work table hoping her muse would descend, unfortunately it seemed her muse had gone on vacation.

((for new people Chaucer's is a place to commission poetry, artwork and ~~forgeries~~ documents. (I hope Geoff mun doesn't mind me saying that it is kind of true canonically) Or just feel free to stop by and see Paige))

[OOC: Geoff's mun doesn't mind you saying that at all, as it is in fact exactly what "documents" means. And Geoff is in fact very disappointed that so far no one has been interested in making use of his "document" skills. :)]

"Hey Paige." Maia said coming into the shop

Paige smiled and stood up, "Hey Mai, come to request poetry for Valentine's day?" she asks

Her smiled widened "No not really, I don't really have anyone to give it." She said quietly "Um actually I need parchment."

Paige nodded, "Oh okay I can provide that!" she says moving some of her things off the table and pulling out a piece for her. "There you go, can I ask what it's for?"

Maia smiled and pulled the heavy gold chain from around her neck and showed Paige the pendant (http://haymancelticjewelry.com/thumbs/tn_amethyst-and-sterling-and-gold-triskele-amulet-copy.jpg) that hung from it. "Tonks sent this to me the night before last by owl. She isn't home I think she's well in her world so I need parchment to send a letter to her by owl."

Well obviously!

Paige nods looking confused, "Oh right okay, so you erm already have an owl?"

Maia frowned "No I don't." Maia said preplexed "I think maybe...well I mean if an owl brought me the letter I should be able to get an owl to take a letter away right. Its all magic." She said smiling. "If you believe it you know. If I believe I'll find one I will." Maia said simply almost as if she were explaining magic to a child.

Shame she was explaining to a witch who wasn't so convinced really.

"Yeah right of course!" she replies "There are probably some around here somewhere, guess you try the park."

"I don't know I am going to try at dusk I think." Maia shrugged and sighed. "I just wanted to tell her thank you you know. She really hasn't been around much lately."

"Yeah it's a nice idea, I'm sure you'll find one if you try hard enough, good luck."

Maia nodded and took the parchment "Got a quill?" She said unrolling it. She was trying to remember everything she had seen Tonks do once when she was writing a letter.

Paige grins, "Not personally, I'm pretty sure the poet does though," she says as she goes over to where Geoff usually works and searches it for one.

She hands it Maia, "There's ink on my desk," she tells her pointing to where she'd been sitting

Maia sat down and carefully dipped the quill into the ink, scratching it out slowly for it was harder then it looked Maia penned the words.

Dear Tonks

Thank you for the necklace, the way things are around here the added protection is very appreciated. Where is it that you've gone away to and why do you stay away so long? I worry so about you. Stay well and safe.

Turning now to Paige she said "Do you have something to close it with?"

She nods and goes over to her bag pulling out some red ribbon, "This'll do right? I know Geoff has wax seals somewhere cos I gave them him, but well they're kind of his."

Maia nodded and looked thoughtful "Wax would hold better then ribbon if an Owl was taking it huh?" Maia said worried. "Maybe this isn't a good idea maybe I should just leave it on her doorstep or something." Maia frowned she was so set on doing this she hated to give up. "I think the ribbon would hold it" She said with a nod. "Don't worry about the wax."

Paige nods "just make sure you tie it tight, I'm sure it'll be fine!" she assures her

Maia nodded and tied it with the ribbon, on the outside of the scroll she scratched out with the quill TONKS she didn't have an address for her but she figured if the owl could find her dorm room at school and Tonks at Diana's house in Seattle; then the owl could find Tonks with just Tonks on the scroll. She smiled up at Paige. "Thank you." She said "Glad to see your feeling better and your up and around."

She smiled back, "yeah me too, I really couldn't stand being stuck in bed all that time. Let me know when you find the owl okay?"

Maia nodded happily looking at her little scroll. It would work, it had to work. She just needed to find an owl now. "Sure thing I'll see you later." Maia paid for the parchment and headed out the door.

Paige nodded and put the money on Geoff's desk for him.

Tonks steals into Chaucer's, bearing two thin packages. "Paige!" She greets, startled but pleased.

Paige smiles, "Tonks, hey! Were you looking for Geoff or Inara? Cos I'm not sure where they are, anything I can help with?"

"Um, do you write poetry?"

Tonks might be blushing.

Might even be pinker than her hair.

Paige considers the question for a moment, "I've been known to, when I was more inspired, but that's more Geoff's thing really. You can tell me what you're after and I'll the details on to him, or if you'd prefer you can always his book (http://geoff-chaucer.livejournal.com/382.html) over there," she said gesturing to the book by the door.

"Er," Tonks, pink still, rubbed the back of her neck. "I kinda need two poems. Kinda sweet but not too gushing, I guess. Nothing too, y'know, flowery. Or too romantic. Just basically 'I think you're brilliant and generally awesome.' Something like that."

Eloquent, she is not.

Paige smiles, "so you want bot poems to say the same thing but not in the same way right? I'm sure he can handle that he's pretty talented," she says blushing herself now.

Tonks winked. "You'd know, hey?"

Paige bites her lip and looks away for a moment. "Well he is pretty famous," she says totally blocking out the poetry he used to recite to her.

Tonks caught the girl's body language from the corner of her eye. "Have you read the Canterbury Tales?" She inquired.

She nodded, "He's not written it yet though,"

"...Yeah. That one makes my brain hurt very much."

She smirks, "You should think yourself lucky I had to explain how this wasn't Geoff's time, and how Fandom seems to be outside time and space, my brain's still a little melty after that one!"
